Unicaja is once again present at Agroexpo, one of the leading trade fairs for the agro-industrial sector, which is being held from Wednesday 28 January to 31 January in Don Benito (Badajoz). The bank will have its own stand, where it will showcase a specific financial offering for this segment and its omnichannel service model, designed to facilitate the day-to-day management of farms.
At the 38th edition of the fair, which is being held at the Feval exhibition centre, Unicaja will have a 70-square-metre stand where attendees can learn first-hand about solutions designed specifically for farmers and livestock breeders, as well as participate in various technical conferences focusing on current issues in the sector.
Among the planned activities, Unicaja has organised three technical conferences: 'Mechanisms and solutions for exporting in currency markets', which will take place on Wednesday 28; 'The agricultural sector and the food industry, pillars of the Extremadura economy', on Thursday 29, and 'The future of Extremadura tomatoes: production, prices and international competition', on Friday 30.
These conferences aim to provide useful information for decision-making and, at the same time, to listen directly to professionals in the field, thus facilitating the adaptation of possible solutions.
In addition, on Saturday 31 January, from 8.30am to 10am, the Unicaja stand will host a live broadcast of 'Agropopular', the COPE programme directed by César Lumbreras and specialising in agricultural information.
Solutions for the agricultural sector: CAP, financing, sustainability and insurance
In its commitment to consolidating its position as a leading financial partner in its areas of operation, Unicaja bases its strategy on tailor-made products, specialised advice from its managers and a wide range of financial and protection services.
The bank offers these professionals financing for new projects, farm modernisation, investments in energy efficiency or sustainable irrigation, as well as advance payments of aid, including those from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), for which the application period begins on 1 February. In previous campaigns, Unicaja has established itself as one of the leading entities in the processing and advance payment of this aid in several territories.
In addition, professionals can manage their payments quickly and flexibly with the Univerde card, access specific lines for intensive crops and protect their farms with specialised insurance covering everything from climate damage to livestock risks.
Extremadura is a strategic territory for Unicaja, both because of its strong links with the agricultural sector and because of the importance of agriculture and livestock farming in its economy and employment. The institution has more than 60 branches in the region, offering specialised services and working directly with farmers and livestock breeders to provide them with solutions tailored to each farm.
Over the last year, Unicaja has helped to boost the agricultural sector in Extremadura by providing financing and supporting projects for modernisation, farm expansion, irrigation improvements, renewable energy installation and agro-industrial transformation.
The bank also collaborates with public administrations to facilitate the financing of projects aimed at creating, conserving or improving forestry, agricultural, livestock or fishing resources.
As part of its support for the sector, the organisation participates in other specialised trade fairs held nationwide, such as Fruit Attraction in Madrid, Salamaq in Salamanca, Fenavin in Ciudad Real, and Infoagro Exhibition and Expolevante in the Almeria municipalities of Aguadulce and Níjar, respectively.
This year, Agroexpo will feature more than 260 exhibiting companies and over 500 brands represented in a 30,000-square-metre space, with an expected attendance of 40,000 visitors. The event's international reach is noteworthy, with companies from Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland, as well as the importance of innovation, technology and digitalisation, and the increasingly relevant role of women in the agro-industrial sector.
