Unicaja reinforces its commitment to the digital mortgage business, strengthening its platform by expanding its technological capabilities and increasing the number of specialized managers dedicated to providing this remote service nationwide. This is a market in exponential growth as reflected by the fact that mortgage brokerage in Spain, mostly digital, has tripled in three years.

In order to position itself as a main player in this area, the bank has evolved its digital platform that integrates the entire process, from the initial comparison (via web or from a digital comparison tools), to the closing of the transaction, so that the user can manage his application from any device.

One of the measures adopted within this framework has been the integration of specialized managers from the physical mortgage centers to this remote center, which is enhanced with greater scope and specialization. In this way, this group of highly qualified professionals (around 50 people) offers personalized and continuous advice to the user throughout the mortgage process.

In this regard, it should be noted that Unicaja's current digital platform allows users to carry out the entire mortgage process digitally -with the sole exception of signing at the notary's office-, a feature that few entities offer in the Spanish market. All this, maintaining the accompaniment of a specialized manager who advises and keeps the user informed during each phase of the transaction.

Other recently incorporated upgrades include the possibility of uploading documentation with online validation and a continuous feedback system with the user. New utilities are expected to be implemented soon, such as the use of the PIN code, which will speed up and reduce the delivery and validation of documentation, and a service channel via WhatsApp for communication and signature of documentation.

With this initiative, framed within the 2025-2027 Strategic Plan, Unicaja improves its digital mortgage processing model, adapting it to the new market environment and customer needs with a better experience, and optimizing the efficiency of the process.

In addition, the platform is designed to integrate and serve not only direct applicants, but also comparison tools and digital brokers. All this, through an automatic connection in seconds that allows the bank to strengthen its presence in the digital mortgage ecosystem and expand its capacity to capture and consolidate business.

This remote channel, which boosts customer acquisition and the efficient management of the current portfolio, is aligned with Unicaja's goal of becoming a main player in digital processing and customer experience throughout the country, combining advanced technology with the professional, specialized and close attention that characterizes the bank.
