Unicaja has extended until 31 October the promotion for new customers who sign up for its online remunerated account, called 'Requetecuenta digital'. This product offers an attractive return of up to 3% APR (1) for the first 12 months, provided a payroll or pension of at least €600 is directly deposited into the account.
The decision to extend the campaign responds to the good reception of the promotion among new Unicaja customers, mainly because it offers one of the best returns on the market.
The 'Requetecuenta digital' is part of Unicaja's strategy to attract new customers through an offer that combines profitability, simplicity and innovation. This policy is part of its people-centered banking model, with the aim of providing value and facilitating financial solutions for their daily lives.
Conditions of the promotion
The "Requetecuenta digital" (digital account) payment, which must be purchased through Unicaja's digital channels, is applied to a maximum average balance of €20,000. The bank also offers a 1% refund on the total of major direct debit bills (2) (water, electricity, gas, telephone, or internet), with an annual limit of €100.
It also includes exemption from account maintenance and administration fees, as well as from transfers (3) made through the online channel, and also eliminates any costs for issuing and maintaining the debit card associated with the account.
Apart from the remuneration, customers who have their salary paid directly into their account can benefit from additional advantages such as an account overdraft of up to 500 euros; a discount of up to 10% on life insurance; free access to the Uni Seguro Plan (allows splitting insurance payments); digital banking services, and free Bizum, as well as the possibility of withdrawing cash by debit without commissions at more than 14,000 ATMs.
Commitment to a close and digital banking model
With this action, Unicaja continues to advance in its digital transformation strategy, incorporating cutting-edge technological solutions that optimize customer experience, providing its app with greater functionalities, security and ease of use. This is the case of Unicaja Key, a new reinforced authentication system that simplifies the authorization of operations, and the NICA virtual assistant, which offers immediate and permanent personalized attention thanks to the artificial intelligence incorporated in its development.
Unicaja is aware of the importance of the digital channel as a key channel for interaction with its customers, especially with regard to operations and subscription of products.
In short, with the customer at the center of its strategy, the bank continues to expand its range of products and services adapted to the needs of each segment of the population, with competitive and quality solutions that contribute to facilitating financial management.
(1) Special conditions for new customers. This offer is aimed at individuals who have not had any product or service from Unicaja in the last 12 months, under any modality. Only one account per customer is permitted. Representative example: If you direct deposit your salary or pension for an amount equal to or greater than €600 per month during the first year, and maintain a constant average balance of €20,000, you will receive a gross annual interest rate of €593.40, applying a 3.00% APR (2.967% NIR). During this period, you will not be eligible for other salary or pension promotions. After the first year, the return will be 0.00% APR (0.00% NIR). Interest is settled every three months. There are no maintenance or administration fees. Offer valid until October 31, 2025.

For these purposes, only water, electricity, gas, and telecommunications bills are included. This discount cannot be combined with other similar promotions.
The interest received and the discount on direct debit bills are subject to tax and are considered income from movable capital obtained from the transfer of equity to third parties pursuant to Article 25.2 of Personal Income Tax Law 35/2006. Pursuant to Articles 74.1 and 75.1 of the Personal Income Tax Regulations, they are subject to withholding tax at the current withholding rate.
(3) Exemption from the fee for standard and immediate transfers in euros between accounts located in the SEPA zone made through Unicaja's Electronic Banking, Mobile Banking, or its ATM network. Funds movement orders (FMOs) - via the Bank of Spain - are excluded from this exemption.
