'Requetecuenta digital': an online account for new customers with 3% APR for the first year on a maximum balance of 20,000 euros

Unicaja has launched the ‘Requetecuenta digital’, an online interest-bearing account aimed at new customers, which offers an attractive return of up to 3% APR1 for the first 12 months. To access this remuneration, users must deposit a salary or pension of at least 600 euros per month by direct payment.

 

This remuneration is applied to a maximum average balance of 20,000 euros. In addition, the bank contemplates the cashback of 1% of the sum of the main direct debited bills2 (water, electricity, gas, telephone or Internet) with an annual limit of 100 euros.

 

Also included is the exemption from account maintenance and management fees, as well as fees for transfers3 made through the online channel. Likewise, any cost for the issuance and maintenance of the debit card associated with the account is eliminated.

 

The ‘Requetecuenta digital’ pays quarterly and its available to sign up only through Unicaja's website. The promotion will be valid until 31 August.

With this new action, Unicaja reinforces its commitment to a banking model focused on people, with the aim of attracting new customers throughout the country with proposals that combine value, innovation and simplicity.

 

In this regard, the bank continues to advance in its digital transformation strategy, incorporating cutting-edge technological solutions that optimize the customer experience, providing its app with greater functionality, security and ease of use. This is the case of Unicaja Key, a new reinforced authentication system that simplifies the authorization of transactions, and the NICA virtual assistant, which offers immediate and permanent personalized attention thanks to the AI incorporated in its development.

 

Unicaja is aware of the importance of the digital channel as a key channel for interaction with its customers, especially in terms of operations and product contracting.

 

In short, with the customer at the center of its strategy, the bank continues to expand its range of products and services adapted to the needs of each segment of the population, with competitive and quality solutions that contribute to facilitating the financial management of its customers.

 

 

 

(1)      Special conditions for new customers. This offer is aimed at people who have not had any product or service with Unicaja in the last 12 months, in any modality. Only one account per customer is allowed. Representative example: If you arrange the direct deposit of your salary or pension for an amount equal to or greater than €600 per month during the first year, and maintain a constant average balance of €20,000, you will receive a gross annual interest of €593.40, applying a 3.00% APR (2.967% TIN). During this period, you will not be able to benefit from other salary or pension promotions. After the first year, the profitability will be 0.00% APR (0.00% TIN). Interest is paid every three months. No maintenance or administration fees. Offer valid until 31 August 2025.

 

(2)      Quarterly cashback of 1.00% of the sum of the amounts of the direct debited bills in the name of the account holders charged in the quarterly settlement period with a maximum limit of 100 €/year. For these purposes, only water, electricity, gas and telecommunications bills are taken into account. Bonus not cumulative with other similar promotions.

The interest received and the cashback on the direct debit bills are subject to taxation and are considered as income from movable capital obtained from the transfer to third parties of equity capital under article 25.2 of the Personal Income Tax Law 35/2006. Pursuant to articles 74.1 and 75.1 of the Personal Income Tax Regulations, they are subject to withholding tax at the current withholding rate.

 

(3)      Exemption from the fee for standard and immediate transfers in euros between accounts located in the SEPA zone made through Unicaja's Electronic Banking, Mobile Banking or its ATM network. Excluded from this exemption are fund movement orders (OMF) -through the Bank of Spain-.
