The 69th edition of the International Film Festival of Valladolid, which begins tomorrow, has lived today the presentation of the traditional carpet by which parade in the coming days the stars participating in the Seminci. The laying of this carpet, which bears one of the corporate colors of Unicaja, was attended by the mayor of the city, José Julio Carnero, and the Councilor for Events and Branding, Blanca Jiménez, who were accompanied by the director of the festival, José Luis Cienfuegos, and managers of the financial institution: Manuel Rubio, regional manager of Castilla y León - South, and María José Rivera, head of Stakeholder Relations.
Unicaja has been a sponsor of the Seminci for two decades. Its commitment to this festival is a reflection of the bank's commitment to Valladolid and Castilla y León, to support important cultural projects and initiatives.
The most visible symbol of this relationship is that, from tomorrow until 26 October, the carpet on which actors, directors and other guests will parade at the opening and closing galas of the Festival at the Teatro Calderón will not be red, but blue, one of the corporate colors of the financial institution. This carpet will also be visible in the cinemas showing the films participating in the Seminci, as well as on Calle Santiago, the main pedestrian street in the center of the city.
The 69th edition of Seminci begins tomorrow, Friday, with the screening of the opening film, Polvo serán, by Carlos Marques-Marcet, starring Ángela Molina. During the following nine days, more than 200 titles will be screened, including feature and short films, with sections dedicated to the most experimental cinema, to the recovery of classic titles, to the proposals of Castilla y León filmmakers, to the youngest, to the most outstanding names of the current production, awarded in other festivals, in addition to the competition section.
All in all, a selection that aims to offer a panorama of auteur cinema for all audiences. This edition will also feature Germany as guest country and a retrospective of the outstanding representative of current American independent cinema Nathan Silver. In addition to this wide range of content, there will be round tables, master classes, exhibitions and other film-related activities.
