Unicaja and the Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa de Málaga have renewed their traditional collaboration agreement, which aims to facilitate the development of the activities of this brotherhood organisation, the oldest in Spain, with more than a century of history, as well as the work of the 41 brotherhoods that comprise it.

To this end, the bank provides financial solutions to support the projects of the oldest brotherhood organisation.

The agreement, which has been signed for almost 20 years, was signed by the CEO of Unicaja, Isidro Rubiales, and the president of the Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa de Málaga, José Carlos Garín.

Support for the work of the Association of Brotherhoods is part of Unicaja's efforts to contribute to the promotion and dissemination of Holy Week in Malaga.

Isidro Rubiales, CEO of Unicaja, highlighted the importance of this agreement, which "reinforces our commitment to the Association of Brotherhoods, providing them with a comprehensive range of products and services tailored to their needs in order to facilitate the development of their activities".

He also emphasised the role played by the brotherhoods in Malaga:
"They are the custodians of social, religious, cultural and historical-artistic values, and they make a decisive contribution to generating social, cultural and welfare activity in the city. For Unicaja, supporting this work is part of our business model of proximity to the areas in which we operate".

For his part, the president of the Agrupación de Cofradías, José Carlos Garín, highlighted "the strength and continuity of a collaboration that, year after year, allows our brotherhoods to continue developing their cultural, social and heritage work with greater guarantees".

He also thanked Unicaja for its commitment, highlighting that "this agreement not only facilitates the daily management of the Association and the 41 corporations that comprise it, but also contributes to strengthening Holy Week, which is a driving force for identity, tradition and the economy in Malaga."

Unicaja's comprehensive offering

With the aim of helping to facilitate the activities of both the Association of Brotherhoods and its corporations, the agreement includes a comprehensive range of financial products and services, with favourable conditions, designed to meet their needs and support the development of their activities.

This offering includes products and services such as financing for investments; current accounts with special conditions; specific services for managing collections and payments and for processing taxes; and a wide range of digital services.

Insurance is also a key feature, among other aspects. These are both group and individual policies designed to insure and cover accidents, contingencies, damage to brotherhood houses and museums, and civil liability and property.

Agrupación de Cofradías

The Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa de Málaga, founded on 21 January 1921, is the first institution of its kind to be established in Spain with the aim of representing and coordinating their interests and public celebrations.

It was established with the intention of bringing together all the brotherhoods in the city of Malaga to enhance the processions of Holy Week in Malaga and to promote collaboration between the brotherhoods.

It currently brings together 41 brotherhoods, with a direct social endorsement of around 80,000 members. Its main activities include organising the city's processions and promoting and publicising Holy Week in Malaga. It is also noteworthy for the social and welfare work it promotes as an institution, in addition to the work carried out by the individual brotherhoods.
