The Vélez-Málaga Business Association (ACEV) held a new Business Breakfast this Friday in the Axarquía town. The event, sponsored by Unicaja, brought together business leaders, professionals and representatives from the business community to analyse the current and future economic situation of the province of Málaga.
The event, which took place at the Hotel Bbou Cortijo Bravo, was attended by Unicaja’s manager for Eastern Málaga, Marisol Pérez, as well as institutional, business and economic representatives from the province.
The keynote speaker at the event was José M. Domínguez, professor of Public Finance at the University of Málaga and chairman of Fundación Unicaja, who, in his presentation entitled ‘The Economic Model of Málaga’, addressed the key factors driving the province’s growth, as well as the challenges and opportunities for the future.
Following the presentation, a discussion took place, during which the attending business leaders raised their concerns directly with the speaker, debating issues such as financing, water infrastructure and the future of local commerce.
The event was also attended by, in addition to the head of ACEV, José Antonio González, the president of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Málaga (CEM), Javier González de Lara; councillors from Vélez-Málaga Town Hall, and the mayor of Benamocarra, Abdeslam Lucena, alongside representatives from other organisations.
Support for the business community
By sponsoring this event, Unicaja is backing the work of ACEV, an organisation with which it maintains close collaboration, and reaffirms, once again, its commitment to the economic, business and social development of Málaga and its province.
In fact, Unicaja remains firmly committed to the business community, placing companies, SMEs and the self-employed at the heart of its strategy for growth and support for the real economy.
In recent years, the bank has strengthened its model of specialised service for both large companies – through the new ‘Unicaja Empresas’ brand – and for small and medium-sized enterprises and self-employed professionals, committing to a banking service that is accessible, personalised and tailored to the needs of each business.
This commitment translates into financing, specialist advice and tailored solutions to boost investment, foster competitiveness and support business development in the regions where it operates. In the last financial year alone, Unicaja granted over €6,000 million in financing to companies, SMEs and the self-employed, thereby consolidating its role as an institution committed to economic growth and job creation.
For its part, ACEV has highlighted the importance of creating spaces for meeting and analysis that encourage the exchange of knowledge and experiences between business owners and professionals, thereby fostering new growth opportunities for the local business community.
