The Associació Catalana de Gestors de Residus de Construcció i Demolició (GRCD), which manages 85% of production within this sector in Catalonia, has addressed the situation and needs of the sector at its ordinary general meeting, which this year benefited from the collaboration of Unicaja.
At this annual meeting, held on Wednesday 20 May in Girona, construction waste producers and management companies from across Catalonia gathered to analyse the future challenges facing the industry, harmonise criteria and establish a common strategy for engagement with local and regional authorities.
Unicaja’s support for this event is part of its commitment to promoting strategic sectors that contribute to the economic development of the regions in which it operates, including Catalonia. It also reflects its firm commitment to promoting activities aimed at fostering sustainability and environmental preservation, which are integral to the financial institution’s Strategic Plan. Representing the financial institution was the branch manager of the Barcelona (Diagonal) branch, Raúl Valle.
The GRCD was established in 2014, with the support and initiative of various Catalan companies specialising in construction waste management. Currently, this association has 56 members, who operate 37 construction waste landfills and 62 recycling plants.
