The Faculty of Economics and Business Science of the University of Malaga (UMA) hosts from today Friday until tomorrow Saturday, 16 and 17 February, the 17th Andalusian Conference on Teaching Economics in Secondary Education, which is sponsored by Unicaja.
It is a meeting dedicated to scientific updating and didactics aimed at teachers of Economics and Business in secondary education.
The vice chancellor of the University of Malaga, Teodomiro Lopez, presided over the opening ceremony, accompanied, among others, by the Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds of the Junta de Andalucia, Carolina España, and the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Science of the UMA, Eugenio Luque.
The Andalusian Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds was in charge of giving the inaugural lecture, entitled 'The economic transformation of Andalusia', in which she reviewed the main lines of action of the Andalusian Government in the modernization of Andalusia and the challenges and opportunities that the region faces in its process of economic transformation.
This conference is organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Science of the UMA and the Junta de Andalucía, and its objective is to show new and updated visions on the relationship between the teaching of this discipline and the current environment.
The first part of the conference is dedicated to the scientific updating of economics teachers and analyzes different innovative instruments applied to the design of the business model and their relationship with the environment. The second part focuses on the didactics of economics, organizing three workshops in which different teachers will share their experiences.
The program includes lectures by Cristina Quintana, Nicola Cerantola, María Dolores Garzón, Alexia de la Morena, Pedro Ortín, Guillermo Antón and María Gil.
Economics Olympics 2023
During the ceremony, awards were also presented to the winners of the 16th Economics Olympics 2023, Fanghao Lin Xia, from IES Fernando de los Ríos, who won the first prize, followed by Marta Sanjuan Domínguez, from Colegio Maravillas in Benalmádena, who won the second prize, and finally, Alberto Gil Montoya, from Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Victoria 'Maristas', who won the third prize.
Likewise, the finalist students Dafne Moreno Delgado, from IES Vega de Mijas, Aurora Espinosa París, from Colegio Sagrado Corazón 'Esclavas' and Yiran Xu, from CDP Santa Rosa de Lima received honorable mentions.
