Unicaja is strengthening its partnership with the Asociación de Mujeres Empresarias de la Provincia de Almería (Almur), once again supporting the organisation of three roundtable discussions aimed at promoting female leadership and entrepreneurship among women business owners.
The ‘Breakfasts with Almur’ project consists of three talks and discussions between a female entrepreneur affiliated with the organisation and a distinguished guest, followed by a networking session, which will take place in the second half of the year.
As well as promoting female leadership, the aim of these events is to create opportunities for collaboration between businesswomen and female entrepreneurs, as well as to highlight the careers of female role models in the business world.
These events also promote shared responsibility, diversity and sustainability as cornerstones of the future of business and bring Almur’s work closer to society.
This collaboration has been formalised through the signing of an agreement by Unicaja’s regional manager for Eastern Andalusia, Juan Cayuela, and the president of Almur, Amalia Salvador.
Unicaja’s support for this initiative is part of its ongoing backing for the business community and its interest in fostering the economic and social development of the regions where it operates, particularly Almería and its province, with which it maintains a special connection.
Indeed, Unicaja’s regional manager for Eastern Andalusia highlighted the organisation’s commitment to “continuing to promote initiatives that help strengthen the business community and create new opportunities for female business owners and entrepreneurs. Our partnership with Almur enables us to support spaces for meeting, inspiration and networking, which fosters the exchange of experiences and raises the profile of female talent in the province of Almería”.
For her part, the president of Almur thanked Unicaja for once again supporting the association in this new edition of "Breakfasts with Almur".
Amalia Salvador emphasised “that this type of partnership helps us to continue creating spaces that are so necessary for female business owners.
At Almur, we represent a strong, diverse female business community that is deeply committed to the economic development of our province. There are many women leading businesses, creating jobs and adding value across a wide range of sectors, and we believe it is important to continue raising the profile of this work. Furthermore, events like this allow us to share experiences, generate synergies and strengthen a network of female entrepreneurs that is becoming increasingly united and continues to grow in Almería.
Unicaja's commitment to equality
Unicaja is firmly committed to supporting women entrepreneurs, recognising their key role in economic and social development. To this end, the bank offers financial solutions, training and specialist advice, with the aim of promoting female entrepreneurship and fostering equal opportunities in the business world.
For Unicaja, equality is a key pillar. For this reason, and as part of its Sustainability and Diversity policies, it has an Equality Plan, which reinforces equal opportunities between men and women as one of the organisation’s core values. Furthermore, it provides for the implementation of specific measures that promote a balanced sharing of responsibilities and support a healthy work-life balance for its employees.
All of this contributes to the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to which the organisation is committed, specifically ‘Gender Equality’ (SDG 5) and ‘Reduced Inequalities’ (SDG 10).
