On Thursday 14 May, Cantabria celebrated its 24th Private Security Day, a well-established institutional event in the region which, each year, highlights the strategic role of this sector and recognises the work of its professionals in safeguarding the protection and well-being of the public. This initiative, organised by the Government Delegation in Cantabria, has once again been supported by Unicaja as a co-sponsor.
In recognition of their dedication, professionalism and spirit of solidarity, the institution has awarded honourable mentions to 58 employees and companies in the private security sector, who have made a decisive contribution to the maintenance of public order and civic harmony, in close collaboration with the State Security Forces. During this year’s event, the following were also honoured: the Government representative in Cantabria, Pedro Casares; the chief superintendent and senior police commander of the region, Antonio del Amo; the colonel in charge of the 13th Zone/Command of the Civil Guard, Jorge Bodelón; and the chief superintendent and former head of the Central Private Security Unit, who received commemorative plaques in recognition of their careers and key contribution to this sector.
Cantabria is a pioneering autonomous community in the celebration of this event, which has once again served to highlight the importance of public-private collaboration, emphasising its key contribution to the guarantee and sustainability of the current security system.
Unicaja’s support for this commemoration highlights its firm institutional commitment to promoting initiatives focused on the economic and social development of its home regions, particularly in the autonomous community of Cantabria. It also reflects its firm commitment to boosting strategic sectors that help strengthen the productive fabric of its main areas of operation.
