Unicaja is once again supporting Extremadura’s agricultural sector through a new agreement with UPA-UCE Extremadura, which will enable farmers and livestock breeders to access advance payments of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) aid on more favourable terms.
Thanks to this agreement, professionals affiliated with UPA-UCE Extremadura who submit their single CAP application through Unicaja will be able to benefit from advance payments of aid on preferential terms, enabling them to meet the day-to-day costs of their farms with greater financial stability.
The agreement was signed by Unicaja’s regional manager in Extremadura, Marga Serna, and the general secretary of UPA-UCE Extremadura, Óscar Llanos, who highlighted the importance of strengthening tools that provide financial stability to the agricultural sector.
Financial support
As part of its commitment to the agricultural and livestock sector, Unicaja has set up a pre-approved financing facility of €1,000 million, which includes CAP advances and support for intensive crops, key instruments for helping to sustain the activity of farms in the region.
Unicaja’s regional manager emphasised “the priority status” held by the Extremadura agricultural sector in the bank’s strategy, adding that “collaboration with organisations such as UPA-UCE Extremadura enables us to offer flexible, accessible solutions tailored to the reality of each farm”.
Serna also highlighted the specialisation of the branch network in Extremadura and the strengthening of digital channels, thereby facilitating access to CAP-related financing.
Unicaja's experience in the agricultural sector and the food industry in general is underpinned by a comprehensive service model that combines financing, insurance and specialist advice, alongside its involvement in leading sectoral initiatives and events, such as Agroexpo, one of the most important trade fairs for the agro-industrial sector.
For its part, UPA-UCE Extremadura continues to carry out its work representing and defending the interests of Extremadura’s farmers and livestock breeders, consolidating its role as a key interlocutor for the sector and expanding its presence across the region.
