Unicaja has joined as a sponsor of NISE Seville 2025 (New Industry in Southern Europe), an international event that has turned the Andalusian capital into the epicentre of European industrial transformation. Over two days, yesterday, Tuesday 2 December, and today, 3 December, the main players in the sector have come together at this congress, which aims to become a strategic space for addressing European challenges in terms of competitiveness, innovation and industrial sustainability.
With this initiative, Andalusia is also reinforcing its commitment to industrial transformation and attracting investment, positioning itself as a benchmark in the debate on the future of industry in Europe.
The inauguration of NISE Seville was attended by, among others, the President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno Bonilla; the Regional Minister for Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela Gutiérrez; the President of the Confederation of Business Owners of Andalusia (CEA), Javier González de Lara; the President of FEDEME, Francisco Javier Moreno Muruve; and, representing Unicaja, the bank's Head of Business Banking, Miguel Ángel Fernández Muñoz.
A comprehensive programme to address the future of industry
The Seville Exhibition and Congress Centre (Fibes) hosted this congress, where, over two days, conferences, round tables and B2B meetings were held at around three major thematic blocks focused on new industrial opportunities, net-zero technologies and European strategic sovereignty.
Five specialised forums were also held to analyse different issues related to innovation, defence, industrial cities, European best practices and NZIA acceleration valleys, along with four thematic itineraries focusing on the digital, innovative, defence and sustainable industries.
These round tables and presentations addressed key aspects for the industrial future and opened the debate on a wide range of topics related to defence and new production scenarios, the revolution of space as a frontier, the integration of artificial intelligence into robotics for the Smart Factory, the promotion of green hydrogen and sustainable fuels, essential technologies for growth, competitiveness in the context of net zero emissions, advanced port logistics, the industrial base of metal mining, the transformation of the automotive industry and agro-intelligence, applied to more productive and higher quality agriculture.
This extensive programme brought together representatives from leading companies, SMEs and industrial clusters, investors, sectoral entities and professionals from different fields such as defence and aerospace, robotics, Industry 4.0, the energy and sustainability sector, mining and raw materials, and pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Alongside them, public institutions and technology centres were also represented at this event to reflect and debate the challenges set by the European "competitiveness compass" and the opportunities offered by the new emerging industry in Andalusia, with the aim of strengthening its role and placing it at the centre of the European map.
In addition to a large exhibition area, NISE Sevilla 2025 also featured an Innovation Startup Zone, a networking space created to give visibility to new companies in the sector, promote new proposals and innovative solutions, and encourage synergies between companies, technology centres and potential industrial partners.
On the second day, the first edition of the 'Our Industry, Energy and Mines of Andalusia' Awards, promoted by the Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines, was also held. These awards recognise the work of individuals, entities and institutions in five categories that contribute to generating value for society through high-impact, quality, socially responsible and sustainable projects in Andalusia.
Challenges and opportunities for Andalusian industry
Aware of the key moment that Andalusian industry is experiencing, marked by the European drive towards technological sovereignty, strategic autonomy and competitiveness hand in hand with sustainability, this event aims to promote this sector, highlight its value and project its leadership as an industrial region, reinforced by its renewable energy resources and raw materials.
Among its main objectives are the active promotion of value chains and sustainability as fundamental pillars of industrial development. In this way, NISE Seville seeks to facilitate the creation of strategic alliances between companies, institutions and sectoral entities and to foster a collaborative ecosystem, in order to promote competitive talent, technology, integration and the positive impact of industry on the economic development of the region. All of this is done by putting people at the centre and helping to accelerate the transition towards a greener and more digital industry.
Furthermore, it is a unique platform for showcasing the latest technological advances applied to key sectors and raising awareness of solutions that can make a difference in the efficiency and sustainability of production processes and industrial products.
About NISE Seville 2025
NISE Seville (New Industry in Southern Europe) is a biennial professional and international event. Conceived as a strategic meeting point for a competitive and sustainable industry, linked to the territory but with an international vocation, it aims to bring together companies, public administrations and entities from the main industrial value chains present in Andalusia, in order to promote innovation, sustainability and competitiveness in the industrial fabric.
Promoted by the Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Regional Government of Andalusia through the Network of Industrial Cities of Andalusia and the Confederation of Business Owners of Andalusia (CEA), this initiative has the collaboration of Seville Town Hall, the organisation of the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs (FEDEME) and the sponsorship of Unicaja, Moeve, Iberdola and the IEDT (Institute for Employment and Socio-Economic and Technological Development) of the Provincial Council of Cadiz.
NISE Seville was created with the aim of becoming the leading industrial fair in southern Europe, promoting the region's international profile as an industrial hub and facilitating connections between the main players in the European industrial ecosystem. To this end, the initiative has a multi-sector approach, as evidenced by the support of more than 30 sector associations, which are collaborating in this event as strategic partners.
