Unicaja reaffirms its support for the Adecco Foundation, joining once again this year in the initiative promoted by this organisation to raise awareness and promote the social and labour inclusion of women who are victims of gender violence, on the occasion of the celebration, on 25 November, of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The financial institution has long maintained a close relationship with this foundation, and this partnership has been strengthened once again with the signing of a new collaboration agreement. Within the framework of this agreement, Unicaja is once again supporting the Adecco Foundation's programme, #EmpleoParaTodas (Employment for All), aimed at promoting the labour inclusion of women in vulnerable situations, which in the last year has helped 1,228 women to access the labour market.

Coinciding with this anniversary, Unicaja is also joining the foundation in celebrating its Week Against Gender Violence, during which it will work intensively with women who are overcoming gender violence to accelerate their inclusion in the labour market. Specifically, training workshops will be held to help them regain their self-confidence, improve their employability and connect with the sectors that currently generate the most job opportunities.

Furthermore, the bank is collaborating with the #SuTalentoEsMasFuerte campaign, an awareness-raising initiative that the Adecco Foundation will promote on social media, with the aim of promoting safe and stigma-free work environments.

Support for the 13th report on Gender Violence and Employment

As part of this agreement, Unicaja also supports the publication of the Gender Violence and Employment Report, produced annually by the Adecco Foundation, now in its thirteenth edition. The report once again highlights the role of employment as an essential element in the prevention, recovery and rebuilding of the lives of women victims.

The findings of the report once again highlight that unemployment increases the vulnerability of women who suffer gender-based violence. In this regard, 61% were unemployed when the abuse began; 91% feel more vulnerable and isolated when they are unemployed; and 72% of those who have found work believe that working helps prevent relapses into gender-based violence by providing income, financial independence, self-esteem and a stronger network of contacts.

The report therefore aims to serve as a starting point for the development of proposals and initiatives to facilitate the labour market inclusion of women victims and, at the same time, contribute to the eradication of stereotypes that continue to hinder their access to employment today.

With these actions, the Adecco Foundation calls for cooperation and coordinated work between companies, public administrations and associations to promote and normalise the presence of women victims in the labour market, promoting measures and actions that favour their employability.

Commitment to equality and diversity

Unicaja's support for this initiative is part of its sustainability policy and its commitment to and interest in promoting diversity and equal opportunities for citizens within the regions where it operates, particularly for certain groups at risk of social exclusion, as one of the traditional values that define the entity's philosophy. All of this is fully in line with its commitment to a universal, accessible and open banking model for all and, specifically, with its objective of placing customers and employees at the centre of its strategy, which is one of the main pillars of its current Strategic Plan.

In this regard, the bank has an Equality Plan in place, which reinforces equal opportunities between men and women, improves their working conditions and provides for the implementation of specific measures that promote a balanced assumption of responsibilities, as well as favouring the work-life balance of its staff.

It also has a Protocol for the Prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment at Work and provides its staff with procedures for the care of victims of gender-based violence (originated outside the workplace) and for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Adecco Foundation

The Adecco Foundation, established in 1999, is the result of the Adecco Group's commitment to corporate social responsibility. Its main objective is to promote the inclusion in the labour market of those who, due to their personal characteristics, have greater difficulty finding work: people with disabilities, the long-term unemployed over the age of 45, people over the age of 55, women with sole responsibility for their families or victims of gender-based violence, as well as other groups at risk of social exclusion.
