The Edufinet Project, promoted by Fundación Unicaja and Unicaja, celebrates this year the eighth edition of its Financial Education Congress, which will bring together in Malaga, from Wednesday, 12 November, until Friday 14, about 40 experts to analyze the situation and challenges of financial education, as well as its positive contribution to entrepreneurship and business.
This event will take place at the Fundación Unicaja Cultural Center and can also be followed simultaneously, via streaming, through the website of the congress, Edufinet Congress.es (http://edufinetcongress.es/), in both cases registration is free.
Under the title 'Financial education and entrepreneurship: situation and challenges', this forum, which is sponsored by Funcas Educa, will address during three days different aspects related to the motto of the congress, as well as other topics on financial education in general. The central axis of the same will revolve around the importance of business and entrepreneurs in employment and the economy, as dynamic agents of innovation, competitiveness and economic growth. It is precisely in this context where financial education plays a key role, as it provides these entrepreneurs and self-employed with the necessary financial knowledge and skills to achieve better management of their activity and greater optimization of results, thus contributing to the survival of the companies.
The Edufinet Congress has established itself as a national reference forum for the study and analysis of financial education, as well as serving as a meeting point for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among experts from different disciplines related to this subject, as demonstrated each year through a carefully planned program and a select panel of speakers. The goal is to identify trends and points of interest to enhance the effectiveness of programs aimed at promoting financial literacy, given their important impact on the economy and society, from a general perspective and, in particular, in relation to certain groups.
Nearly 40 speakers from various disciplines
The panel of speakers for this edition is once again notable for its diversity, with the presence of both public and private institutions of recognized prestige in the academic, financial, financial and social fields, and who will speak on a wide range of topics from different approaches. Speakers include, within the financial world, representatives of organizations such as the Bank of Spain, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the Directorate General of Insurance and Pension Plans and Funcas, and also from Fundación Unicaja and Unicaja, as well as from the Edufinet Project work team.
On the business side, it is worth mentioning the participation of specialists from the Confederación de Empresarios de Málaga (CEM), the Chamber of Commerce, the Asociación de Jóvenes Empresarios (AJE) and the Asociación Española de Contabilidad y Administración de Empresas (AECA).
In the academic field, lecturers and experts from several universities, including those of Cordoba (UCO), Granada (UGR), Malaga (UMA), the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas and UTAMED, will take part. The consulting world will also be represented by firms such as Deloitte, EY Abogados, Garrigues and KPMG, in addition to institutions such as the Malaga Association of Economists, the Econospérides Institute, BIC Euronova, Smart City Cluster and the Women's Sports Observatory.
A complete and varied programme
This congress will bring together nearly 40 experts to reflect and debate for three days on topics related to financial education and entrepreneurship, through a full programme comprising a total of 12 sessions and six colloquiums.
Among other matters of interest, the following will be discussed: the relevance of financial education in business sustainability, its positive influence on entrepreneurship and its role as a strategic lever for entrepreneurship, business growth and economic dynamization. It will also focus on entrepreneurship in people and groups with different abilities; on the bases and foundations for the creation of a more solid productive fabric; on the keys for the incorporation of a company, and on basic aspects such as taxation, regulation and human capital.
The importance of financial literacy and formal training will also be analyzed, as essential factors for growth and business decision-making; the strategies needed to prevent cybercrime and in the field of financial digitalization, as well as the challenges presented by AI for entrepreneurs, companies and the self-employed. The management of financial risks, the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship and management by the self-employed, along with the provision products for them, are other issues that will be raised during these days, whose program is completed, in addition, with several presentations of practical cases of entrepreneurship.
In the area of financial education, the new National Plan will be addressed from a general perspective, among other issues; its application in the world of sports and, in particular, its importance for the proper management of the careers of professional athletes, as well as the relationship between financial and mathematical knowledge. 20 years of financial education
In its 20 years of history, the Edufinet Project has been characterized as one of the pioneering and benchmark financial education programs in Spain, as a result of its firm commitment to society and in the exercise of its sustainability policy. The result of these two decades of work is its extensive collaboration network, which includes ten business organizations and 17 universities.
