Unicaja held its 21st Convention yesterday and today at its headquarters in Malaga, which brought together more than 300 executives and managers from across the Group. Under the slogan 'Focused on people', the meeting has served to transfer the main lines of work of the Strategic Plan 2025-2027, with a focus on digital transformation, improving customer experience and a model of sustainable and profitable growth.

During the event, the bank's top executives, led by the Chairman, José Sevilla, and the CEO, Isidro Rubiales, analyzed the bank's global positioning in the new environment, addressing key areas such as operational efficiency, the evolution of the business model, the promotion of digital banking and the strengthening of profitability. All of this, with the aim of offering an increasingly personalized and differential experience to customers.

The Convention also had, among its basic objectives, to promote dialogue with management teams, to share visions on the execution of the new strategic plan and to consolidate the collective commitment necessary for its successful implementation.

Participants included, in addition to Unicaja's senior management, executives and managers from central services, a broad representation from the branch and business network, heads of other functions, technical profiles and heads of Group companies.

New stage to advance together

During his speech, the bank’s chairman, José Sevilla, pointed out that “this new plan is a firm commitment to the exciting professional project that Unicaja represents, focused on the customer and built by all, and also to the long-term value that it can provide”. “An independent and forward-looking project -he stressed-, marked by its proximity to the territory”.

In this sense, he indicated that “we have capital and liquidity, solid roots, with a leading presence in our territories of origin, and we also have a magnificent team of professionals that allows us to continue building, based on the values of proximity, integrity, professionalism and transparency, a relationship of commitment and trust with our clients”.

For his part, the CEO, Isidro Rubiales, stressed the importance of executing this plan which “sets out a clear roadmap for the growth of the company, being closer to the customer, working in an agile and transversal way and providing the teams with the tools to lead change in each area”.

Rubiales emphasized the importance of the staff in strengthening the company, since it would be impossible to achieve this “without a commitment to people, to those of you who are involved on a day-to-day basis in customer relations”. A relevant role that, according to him, will translate into “a better customer experience and, therefore, in being able to provide an agile and efficient service”.

Strategic Plan 2025-2027

Unicaja's 2025-2027 Strategic Plan aims to generate sustainable value for customers, drive the Group's profitable growth and strengthen its positioning as a universal bank. Customers and employees are at the center of this strategy, which promotes greater collaboration between key areas and a comprehensive approach to value creation.

The bank's priority is to transform retail banking, developing a differentiated brand experience that will consolidate it as its customers' main bank. In the corporate segment, the plan includes strengthening the business and a more agile and closer customer experience.

With this new plan, the bank reaffirms its commitment to a close, efficient and future-oriented banking model. The new plan promotes a comprehensive transformation that seeks to consolidate sustainable growth and strengthen ties with customers, positioning Unicaja to successfully face the challenges of the financial sector.
