Unicaja participates in the Princess of Asturias Awards as a member of the Princess of Asturias Board of Trustees, represented by its chairman, José Sevilla.
The 44th edition of these prestigious awards will have its main ceremony tomorrow Friday at the Campoamor Theater in Oviedo, with a ceremony presided over by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, with the presence of Their Royal Highnesses the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofia.
Unicaja shares with the Princess of Asturias Foundation the objectives of contributing to the promotion of cultural, humanistic and scientific values, with which to build a better, more sustainable, fair and inclusive society.

Wide activity program
The program planned for the Princess of Asturias Awards presentation includes more than a hundred activities (concerts, films and talks, educational workshops, meetings with laureates, among others), with the aim of bringing the laureates closer to the public and encouraging dialogue around the values that this event represents.
This year's laureates include Joan Manuel Serrat, in Arts; Marjane Satrapi, in Communication and Humanities; Carolina Marin, in Sports; Michael Ignatieff, in Social Sciences; Ana Blandiana, in Literature; the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI), in International Cooperation; Daniel J. Drucker, Jeffrey M. Friedman, Joel F. Habener, Jens Juul Holst and Svetlana Mojsov, in Technical and Scientific Research; and Magnum Photos.
Likewise, Sotres (Cabrales) will receive from Their Majesties the King and Queen and their Royal Highnesses the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofia the Exemplary Town of Asturias 2024 award.
The Princess of Asturias Foundation is a non-profit private institution whose aims are to contribute to extolling and promoting those scientific, cultural and humanistic values that form part of the universal heritage of humanity and consolidate the existing links between the Principality of Asturias and the title traditionally held by the heirs to the Crown of Spain.
The Princess of Asturias Awards, of enormous international relevance, are given annually to scientific, technical, cultural, humanitarian and social work in eight categories: Arts, Literature, Social Sciences, Communication and Humanities, Technical and Scientific Research, Concord, International Cooperation and Sports.
