Unicaja has recently joined the group of companies adhered to the Gijon Chamber of Commerce, thus promoting collaboration, both with the chamber and, through it, with the Asturian business community.

The signing of the adhesion has been led by Unicaja’s head of Commercial Banking North, Luis Taboada, and by the president of the Gijón Chamber of Commerce, Félix Baragaño.

Taboada emphasized that "this agreement strengthens Unicaja's commitment to the business fabric of Gijón and our link with this institution, bringing us even closer to companies and contributing to the economic development of the territories where we operate, especially in our regions of origin".

Based on the agreement signed, Unicaja and the Gijón Chamber of Commerce will implement and specify lines of action and work in the specific field of financing for companies, as well as in the support of the different activities developed by the Gijón Chamber of Commerce.

The goal is to promote the competitiveness of companies in the region through initiatives that promote training, entrepreneurship and sustainability, and, in particular, trade fairs and congress activities.

Support to businesses

One of Unicaja’s goals is to collaborate with SMEs and the self-employed by providing them with financial products and services that are essential for the performance of their activities. Therefore, it works to offer them at all times those financial solutions best suited to their needs (digitization, sustainable transformation, etc.), with the aim of promoting their competitiveness.

The Gijón Chamber of Commerce offers high value-added services to companies, with special attention to SMEs and sectors and groups that require greater effort, covering a wide range of needs: from training or opening international markets, through advice and support for business start-ups, to new strategic areas such as quality, sustainability, communication or new technologies.
