Unicaja and Acciona have recently signed two transactions for the financing of sustainable projects for a total amount of 65 million euros.
This green financing is channeled through Acciona and Acciona Energía. Specifically, 40 and 25 million euros, respectively, which will allow the development of actions related to renewable energies by this company.
Specifically, this financing will be allocated to photovoltaic and wind production assets that Acciona Energía develops and operates as part of its strategy to mitigate the effects of the climate emergency and accelerate the shift towards a decarbonized energy model.
Both green finance transactions are subject to compliance with KPI LII5 of Acciona's Sustainable Impact Finance Framework and are in line with Unicaja's sustainability (ESG) strategy and its support for 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Based on this strategic positioning, the financial institution, through the development of its activity, supports environmentally friendly projects that promote the transition to a carbon neutral economy.
In fact, working on the development of sustainable solutions to facilitate this transition is one of the main challenges faced by society in general and companies in particular, and Unicaja is aware of this need and of its contribution through the granting of financing for its achievement.
Boosting sustainability
Unicaja has a wide range of sustainable financial products and services for companies and individuals, framed within its ESG Business Agenda, such as financing for renewable energy projects of different technologies or for the installation of photovoltaic panels for self-consumption; green mortgage loans for energy-efficient buildings; socially responsible investment funds; sustainable pension plans, or loans to homeowners' associations to improve energy efficiency.
Acciona is a global supplier that develops sustainable solutions through the generation of renewable energy, sustainable management of the water cycle and the construction of transformational infrastructures that drive the regeneration of the planet and respond to the needs of society.
