Unicaja Banco has renewed the financial collaboration agreement that it has maintained for more than two decades with Extraval, Sociedad de Garantía Recíproca (SGR) Extremeña de Avales, through which it facilitates financing with guarantees to SMEs in this Autonomous Community, thus contributing to boosting their activity.
The agreement, which was signed by Unicaja Banco’s Territorial Manager of Commercial Banking in Extremadura, Julio Morales, and by the President of Extraval, Miguel Ángel Mendiano, aims to provide SMEs in Extremadura with a complete range of specific financing to support the development of their activity.
In short, Unicaja Banco’s objective is to collaborate with SMEs in Extremadura by providing them with the financial products and services that the need for the performance of their activities, being aware, moreover, of the importance of this group for the development of the Community.
Therefore, through this agreement, Unicaja Banco and Extraval once again offer this group a complete financing offering, with advantageous conditions, to promote entrepreneurship and contribute to the creation of employment and the maintenance of jobs.
Financing facilities
The financing facilities included in the agreement signed are aimed at credit transactions, with extraordinary terms and interest rates, with the joint and several guarantee of the Extremadura SGR. Specifically, these include loans for investment, working capital and equipment leasing, as well as credit accounts.
It also includes financing line for the Next Generation recovery fund programs, promoted by the European Union, with a view to designing and facilitating solutions for companies, especially SMEs. In this regard, it is worth highlighting the line of subsidized financing for the industrial manufacturing sector.
Commitment to SMEs
Unicaja Banco’s commitment to SMEs and the self-employed is part of its activity as a financial institution focused on the retail and proximity banking business, which plays an important role in promoting territorial development.

Extraval SGR is a non-profit financial institution whose main objective is to provide SMEs in Extremadura with access to credit and to improve their financing conditions in general. This support is materialized through the provision of guarantees to banks and savings banks, among others.
The main advantage that Extraval brings to SMEs is the improvement of their negotiating capacity and the reduction of financial costs. In addition, this collaboration allows this group to benefit from credit facilities to which they would not have access on their own, since they lack the guarantees required by the institutions.
