Unigest, Unicaja Banco’s mutual fund manager, ranks among the best in the Spanish market. Specifically, within the framework of large fund managers -those with more than 1,000 million euros in assets in rated funds-, it is the eighth with the best three-year average weighted rating and the second among those belonging to a banking group, according to the latest star rating prepared by Morningstar, a global benchmark in financial product analysis and assessment. This management quality rating measures the risk-adjusted performance of the different funds in relation to their category, over the last three years.

The ranking is based on the ‘3-Year Weighted Average Morningstar Rating’ (both return and risk and fees of the products are measured), according to the assets of each rated fund, with data as of 30 June 2023.

Unigest currently has five funds rated with 4 and 5 Morningstar stars (index that measures a fund’s risk-adjusted return, relative to similar funds) with the sole objective of helping its clients achieve their financial goals (table with the funds referred to is attached).

Promotion of funds and commitment to management quality

As part of its business strategy, Unicaja Banco promotes mutual funds to lead in the management of long-term savings, offering customers the best investment alternatives, both its own and those of third parties, through an offer that combines its own product, open architecture and alliances with third parties.

Unicaja Banco’s customers currently have at their disposal the best and greatest capabilities to meet their financial goals in a complex context, in which management quality will be especially relevant as a differentiating element and with a view to offering attractive returns to savers.

Furthermore, mutual funds are among the bank’s main business lines, defined within the framework of its 2022-2024 Strategic Plan, and, specifically, within the line of action of greater specialization to accelerate commercial activity.
