Unicaja Banco has been recognized at the Expansión-Allfunds Awards, given recently. Specifically, the Liberbank Estabilidad pension plan, promoted by the financial institution, has been named among the best performers 2022.

This plan has been awarded as the best Global Fixed Income pension fund, recognizing the management carried out in a year of significant volatility, motivated by the increase in interest rates, inflationary pressure and war conflicts, which made 2022 one of the worst years for fixed income.

The prize-giving ceremony of these prestigious awards, which reach their 34th edition, took place on 24 May, in an event that gathered the asset management industry to recognize the best investment funds and pension plans in 2022, according to quantitative criteria.

Despite this adverse context, the Liberbank Estabilidad pension plan managed to close the year 2022 with a negative return of 6.14% (better, however, than the sector average), as a result of management that maintains a high degree of prudence with a high concentration of investments in investment grade issuers.

The award to Unicaja Banco was accepted by Unicaja Banco’s Head of Life Insurance, María Fernández Cabilla.
