Unicaja Banco shows once again its commitment to the leisure of young people with its collaboration in the celebration of CometCon, the main Youth Convention of Alternative Culture and Leisure in Asturias, which will take place on 2, 3 and 4 September at the Recinto Ferial Luis Adaro in Gijon. This event, now in its tenth edition, has established itself as a not-to-be-missed event for thousands of fans of cosplay, videogames, movies and comics.

Unicaja Banco’s participation in this event is part of its interest in supporting leisure initiatives and activities that contribute to promoting young talent and entrepreneurship in emerging business areas.

On this occasion, the bank will once again be represented in the PCBox-Unicaja Pavilion, which features, among its main attractions, a driving simulator area run by the rally, F1 and touring car company GSR. This pavilion also includes areas such as Red Bull, addressed to the Car PS5 Event, Competition Arenas, where Valorant, Fortnite and CSGO tournaments will take place, with the help of NLTech and National League, or three FreePlay areas, where visitors can freely play their favorite videogames.

Full program of activities

For three days, those visiting CometCon’22 will enjoy a full program of activities in the four pavilions that host this convention (central, gamimg, PCBox-Unicaja and Festimarket), from 12:00 to 21:00, ranging from cosplay, talent and dance contests and K-Pop concerts, to tournaments with the newest consoles and videogames, experiences with virtual reality equipment, board games and role-playing games, as well as balloon competitions.

In addition to collectors’ exhibits, exhibitions and fantasy parades, visitors will also have the opportunity to attend workshops on a wide variety of topics ranging from the design of Japanese stamps and the creation of characters such as Baby Joda, to knitting geeky scarves, or even acquire objects and souvenirs related to their favorite movies, series or comics in the large shopping area.

One of the main attractions of this event are the round tables and lectures by some of well-known content creators of the moment, such as the archaeologist Puto Mikel, the illustrator Quan Zhou or the anime expert youtuber Hoxy. Other guests who will also participate in these meetings include Jordi Cruz, presenter of the program ‘Art Attack’, and the TV series dubbing actors Ana de Castro (‘Pokemon’ and ‘Game of Thrones’) and Fran Jiménez (‘Grey's Anatomy’ and ‘Dexter’).
