The award is endorsed by additional recognitions by Morningstars and Funds People, and it is the perfect ending for a year, 2019, characterized by the good performance of Unicorp Patrimonio, confirming the excellent management carried out in the last years by its investment team.
The Expansión-Allfunds award to the 'Best conservative investment fund portfolio', which has had the participation of 25 institutions, has been received at a ceremony award held on Wednesday in Madrid by the Investment Manager of Unicorp Patrimonio, Miguel Ángel Paz.
This conservative fund basket has emerged as the winner after getting the best result, with a 13.27% rise and a 2.08% volatility (maximum limit of the competition: 5%). The compositions of the winner portfolio share the same investment strategy, in a very concentrated version, that the Unicorp Patrimonio team applies in the funds, sicavs and portfolios managed in private banking.
This is the fifth occasion on which Unicorp Patrimonio wins one of the Expansión-Allfunds portfolio competitions, two of them related to stock exchange portfolios and this one on fund portfolio, which join the two awards achieved in 2018 for its aggressive and conservative portfolios.

Positive year with several recognitions by Morningstar and Funds People
The Expansión-Allfunds award is the perfect finish for the excellent year of Unicorp Patrimonio, with good performance as managers of its mixed funds Unicorp Selección and the discretionary management of portfolios. It has improved its reference indicators, with annual returns ranging from 5.28% to 36.43%, depending on the risk profile.
In sum, the results of 2019 confirm the good management carried out in the last years by Unicorp Patrimonio investment team. For instance, the rating agency Morningstar granted in 2019 four stars to the profiled fund Unicorp Selección Dinámico. There are only four profiled funds traded by Spanish entities (moderated risk 4, following the 1 to 7 scale of the CNMV) with four stars granted by Morningstar, and none with five stars. The fund Unicorp Selección Dinámico is the most profitable at 1 and 3 years, as at the end of 2019.
This fact reflects the good three-year return-risk of the product. The rest of profiled funds have three Morningstar stars. As at the end of the year, Unicorp Patrimonio’s baskets of discretionary investment fund management stood at the first quartile at 1, 3 and 5 years in all the risk profiles. Additionally, the rating agency Morningstar has also granted a recognition to the fund Unicorp Selección Dinámico, four sustainability globes.
Additionally, Unicorp Patrimonio management has also been recognised by the analysis team of Funds People, which has granted its Funds People Label 2020 as featured product of the year to two funds: Unicorp Selección Prudente FI and Unicorp Selección Moderado FI.
