Unicaja Banco reaffirms its support to entrepreneurship as a key economic driver in Andalusia with its participation as sponsor at ‘SmartDay, Andalucía en Acción’, the first event of global connection for entrepreneurs, focused on social transformation and held today in Seville organized by the Department of Employment, Training and Self-Employment of the Andalusian Government, through Andalucía Emprende.

Unicaja Banco’s support to this initiative falls within the close and long-standing collaboration that the bank maintains with Fundación Andalucía Emprende, as well as within its interest in contributing to the development of entrepreneurship in Analusia and in fostering the economic development and job creation.

As a financial institution of reference in Andalusia, Unicaja Banco shows its commitment to entrepreneurs through its participation in different actions addressed to this group. The final purpose is that the future business owners have access to all the participants, tools and solutions involved in the different stages of business creation.

At the event, companies, experts and entrepreneurs have shared knowledge, challenges and future strategies, as the main goals of this initiative are fostering the exchange of knowledge, networking, generating new business opportunities and economic innovation, as well as reflecting on the future of education, employment and entrepreneurship in Andalusia.

The event has covered topics such as self-employment, social economy or big data and the videogame industry as business opportunities, as well as entrepreneurship in the rural world, female or young entrepreneurship and global entrepreneurship, innovation and social entrepreneurship or how to transform the world through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Awards and thematic areas

Unicaja Banco has also sponsored awards to acknowledge projects developed by university students, and it has collaborated in two thematic areas to provide advice to entrepreneurs.

In particular, the bank has participated in a meeting area on financing, presenting its main financial products with exclusive conditions for entrepreneurs, and in another area to give visibility to female entrepreneurship and to foster the creation of women networks as part of the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

‘SmartDay, Andalucía en Acción’, which has gathered entrepreneurs, business owners and representatives of institutions commited to fostering business culture, has become the main event in the region on entrepreneurship, enabling the exchange knowledge, networking, creativity and the generation of new business opportunities.
