FreakCon is back in Malaga one more year and expects to receive more than 30,000 visitors and consolidate Malaga as the national capital of popular culture and entertainment.
Unicaja Banco collaborates one more year with FreakCon, the International Convention of Manga, Comic, TV Series and Videogames, which reaches its fourth edition and will be held on 7 and 8 March at the Trade Fairs and Congress Center of Malaga (Fycma).
FreakCon consolidates itself as a benchmark event in the world of comics, series and videogames. The goal of this edition is to reach 35,000 visitors and to consolidate Malaga as the national capital of popular culture and entertainment through meetings with international actors and artists, original soundtrack concerts, workshops and different exhibitions.
The event has been presented today in a press conference with the participation of the Head of FreakCon, Javier Ramos; the Councillor for Education, Youth and Sports, Luis Verde; the Head of the Department of Advertising and Promotions of Unicaja Banco, Raquel Pérez, the Head of Strategic Sectors of Unicaja Banco, Pedro Armendáriz, as well as by the Head of Marketing of NRSur for Burger King, Alejandro Rodríguez, and Head of Fairs of Fycma, Paula Morales.
The participation of Unicaja Banco in FreakCon 2020 falls within the support of the bank to young people, entrepreneurship and new emerging business models, such as young digital talent. In this sense, the collaboration of Unicaja Banco also falls within its support to leisure activities and events which, as FreakCon or Gamepolis, gather thousands of young people interested in videogames and new technologies.
The encounter ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Jack Gleeson, was one of the main activities of the previous edition of FreakCon, which also featured conferences about cinema mega-productions in Andalusia, workshops on VR and encounters with international artists, such as the stop motion animator Tim Allen, voice actors Joël Mulachs and José Posada, or cosplayer Enji Night.
In addition to Unicaja Banco, the following institutions collaborate and support FreakCon: Youth Area of Malaga City Council and Digital Content Hub, Fancine (organized by the Vice-Chancellor for Culture and Sports of the University of Málaga –UMA-), Trade Fairs and Congress Center of Málaga (Fycma) and several companies and associations.
