Unicaja teaches students of the University of Granada how to manage a company's finances

Unicaja, through the Edufinet Project, has organized a workshop on basic business financial concepts and financial viability aimed at students of the University of Granada (UGR), which are in their last year of their undergraduate or master’s degree and working on their end of degree dissertation.

At the workshop, which falls within the programme Emprende tu TFG/TFM of the University of Granada, the students have received training on topics related to the management of annual accounts and the preparation of a company’s financing plan, financial indicators and business viability.

 

The Edufinet Project is one of the financial education programmes pioneering in Spain. It currently collaborates with 14 universities and with more than ten institutions and business organization, and its work has been recognized with several awards.

At the workshop, which falls within the programme Emprende tu TFG/TFM of the University of Granada, the students have received training on topics related to the management of annual accounts and the preparation of a company’s financing plan, financial indicators and business viability.

 

The workshop has been held at the University of Granada’s Entrepreneurship Centre, and has been given by a speaker from Edufinet, a project promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja.

 

The Edufinet Project is one of the financial education programmes pioneering in Spain. It currently collaborates with 14 universities and with more than ten institutions and business organization, and its work has been recognized with several awards.

 

Edufinet Project

 

The Edufinet Project was launched in 2007, although its development began in 2005 within Unicaja. More than 127,600 people have directly participated so far in the conferences and workshops, of which 89,000 are young people. The website www.edufinet.com has registered so far more than 7.6 million visits, with access from nearly 180 countries.

 

This Internet portal offers systematic and practical information in a question-answer format, where no previous knowledge is required. Two additional portals with specific contents were created later: one for business owners and entrepreneurs (Edufiemp) and one for young people (Edufinext).

 

Publications on finances are other of Edufinet Project’s main pillars, with the ‘Financial Guide’ and the ‘Financial Guide for Business Owners and Entrepreneurs’ to be highlighted. The Project also fosters different activities, such as the Conferences ‘Financial Education for Young People’, workshops and lectures at universities, summer courses or participation in international projects.
