Unicaja Banco hosted today in Úbeda (Jaen) a new seminar of Enclave Agrario, a series of meetings with business owners of the agricultural sector, held in different cities to analyse the new business trends and strategies, as well as the importance of the agri-food sector in the Spanish economy. In particular, today’s seminar has focused on innovation and sustainability in the olive sector.

In today’s seminar, which has had the collaboration of Asaja Jaen, Manuel Barneo, agricultural engineer and consultant expert in rural development, has given a talk focused on the new challenges and leadership in the olive sector.

 

The organization by Unicaja Banco of this series of meetings with agricultural business owners is part of the support that the bank gives to the business fabric and it reflects its interest to promote and facilitate the economic development of the areas where it operates and, specifically, of the Jaen province and the town of Úbeda.

 

Unicaja Banco hosted today in Úbeda (Jaen) a new seminar of Enclave Agrario, a series of meetings with business owners of the agricultural sector, held in different cities to analyse the new business trends and strategies, as well as the importance of the agri-food sector in the Spanish economy. In particular, today’s seminar has focused on innovation and sustainability in the olive sector.

 

In today’s seminar, organized with the collaboration of Asaja Jaen and held at Hotel Placio de Úbeda, the agricultural engineer and consultant expert in rural development Manuel Barneo has given a talk focused on the new challenges and leadership in the olive sector. The event has also been attended by Unicaja Banco’s Regional Manager for Eastern Andalusia, Miguel Ángel Fernández; by the Head of Agricultural Business of the financial institution, Francisco Vilches.

Lecture by Manuel Barneo

 

The agricultural engineer and consultant expert in rural development, olive oil and olive grove, Manuel Barneo, has given a talk called ‘Sustainability and innovation in the olive sector. Economic and environmental viability’, focused on the new challenges faced by this sector.

 

Barneo has reviewed the main features of the olive sector, measures to ensure sustainability and market viability, the relevance of the green economy to stop rural depopulation and the profitability of exports.
