Unicaja has renewed its collaboration agreement with Fundación Adecco to develop, for another year, initiatives aimed at improving employability and facilitating access to the labour market for women at risk of social exclusion. This collaboration is part of the actions promoted on the occasion of International Women's Day and reinforces the financial institution's commitment to equal opportunities and social cohesion.

The agreement was signed by Unicaja's head of Communication and Image, Fernando Ríos, and the regional manager of Fundación Adecco in Eastern Andalusia, Miguel Ángel de Pedro.

The agreement will contribute to the development of Women's Week 2026, which will intensify the work that Fundación Adecco carries out throughout the year with women in vulnerable situations, promoting their skills development and offering them guidance, intermediation and individualised support for their inclusion in the labour market.

In addition, Unicaja's collaboration reinforces Fundación Adecco's #EmpleoParaTodas (Employment for All) programme, which offers year-round career guidance, skills training, psychosocial support and job placement to women at risk of exclusion.

"The collaboration with Fundación Adecco reflects our commitment to equal opportunities and labour inclusion for groups that face greater difficulties in accessing employment," said Unicaja's head of Communication and Image, who stressed that the organisation "wants to contribute to generating real and sustainable opportunities that have a positive impact on people and society".

Miguel Ángel de Pedro, regional manager of Fundación Adecco in Eastern Andalusia, stressed that "this long-standing collaboration with Unicaja reflects a firm commitment to the labour inclusion of women, who represent almost half of the workforce in Andalusia, but who nevertheless continue to encounter additional barriers to employment, especially when circumstances such as disability, being over 45 years of age, long-term unemployment, sole responsibility for family care, or having been victims of gender-based violence are present. For Fundación Adecco, having committed companies such as Unicaja is essential to transforming realities and generating tangible results through close and personalised support, skills training and real opportunities that enable many women to regain confidence and build a stable and independent life project."

With this collaboration, Unicaja supports the programmes that Fundación Adecco has been developing for more than 25 years to promote the inclusion of socially excluded women in the labour market, through comprehensive and ongoing support that strengthens their autonomy and improves their opportunities for accessing the labour market.

This initiative joins other actions supported by Unicaja in the field of equality, such as specific training and support programmes for women who are victims of gender-based violence, as well as collaboration in the preparation of the report '#EmpleoParaTodas: women at risk of exclusion in the labour market', published annually by Fundación Adecco on the occasion of International Women's Day, which is celebrated every 8 March.

Commitment to equality and diversity

Unicaja's support for this initiative is part of its sustainability policy and its commitment to promoting diversity and equal opportunities for citizens within the areas where it operates, and in particular for certain groups at risk of social exclusion, as one of the traditional values that define the bank’s philosophy. All of this is fully in line with its commitment to a universal, accessible and open banking model for all, and, specifically, with its objective of placing customers and employees at the centre of its strategy, which is one of the main pillars of its current Strategic Plan.

In this regard, the organisation has an Equality Plan in place, which reinforces equal opportunities between men and women, improves their working conditions and provides for the implementation of specific measures that promote a balanced assumption of responsibilities, as well as favouring the work-life balance of its staff.

It also has a Protocol for the Prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment at Work and provides its staff with procedures for assisting victims of gender-based violence (outside the workplace) and for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Fundación Adecco

The Fundación Adecco, established in 1999, is the result of the Adecco Group's commitment to corporate social responsibility. Its main objective is to promote the inclusion in the labour market of those who, due to their personal characteristics, have greater difficulty finding work: people with disabilities, the long-term unemployed over the age of 45, people over the age of 55, women with sole responsibility for their families or victims of gender-based violence, as well as other groups at risk of social exclusion.
