Unicaja has signed a collaboration agreement with Volvemos.org, an organisation working to facilitate the return to Spain of professionals pursuing their careers abroad. The agreement aims to help these individuals return under better conditions and put their experience at the service of the economic and social fabric.

This agreement reinforces the bank’s commitment to creating opportunities, strengthening human capital as a driver of growth, and sustainable development.

Unicaja’s collaboration focuses on access to bank financing and, more generally, on supporting initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, the creation of professional networks and the retention of the population, particularly in the regions where Unicaja operates.

Specifically, the bank will offer financial products and services tailored to the needs of those returning to Spain, such as bank accounts, financing options, facilities for transferring funds from abroad and personalised advice.

Similarly, Unicaja will support the initiatives promoted by Volvemos.org aimed at assisting Spanish professionals in their return process, facilitating their integration into the labour market and connecting them with professional and business opportunities in Spain.

Specifically, this organisation runs programmes to support, advise and connect returning professionals with companies, building a network that fosters the exchange of knowledge and the creation of new opportunities.

The agreement was signed by the head of Unicaja’s Western and Southern Asturias region, Ana María Lorenzana, and the head of Volvemos.org, Diego Ruiz del Árbol.

In this regard, Lorenzana emphasised that “talent is one of our country’s main assets”. Therefore, she added, “supporting their return is not only an opportunity for those wishing to come back, but also for the companies and regions that benefit from their experience and knowledge, and at Unicaja we want to be a partner on that journey”.

For his part, the head of this organisation has pointed out that “returning home after years living abroad is a major challenge, which is why organisations like Volvemos are so vital. By forming partnerships with organisations such as Unicaja, we strengthen our work in supporting the diaspora and help them overcome the barriers associated with returning home”.

Commitment to social and economic development

The agreement forms part of Unicaja’s sustainability policy, which supports projects with a positive impact on society. Lorenzana stated that “we believe in a banking sector committed to its local community, and this agreement with Volvemos.org fits with our vision: to support initiatives that generate real opportunities, strengthen the productive fabric and contribute to social progress”.

With this partnership, both organisations are reinforcing their commitment to talent as a key driver of the country’s economic and social development.

Unicaja remains firmly committed to fostering talent as a strategic pillar of its commitment to development, convinced that human capital is an essential driver of territorial cohesion. To this end, it maintains partnerships with public and private entities in the regions where it operates.

The Volvemos.org platform is a private initiative to encourage the return of emigrants to Spain. Created in 2016 by a group of returnees, its objectives are to strengthen ties with Spanish citizens abroad and facilitate their return by defending the rights of this group and raising their profile; providing direct support to migrants and returnees; promoting and implementing public return policies; connecting with businesses; and carrying out research projects on migration.

Since its launch, it has supported more than 5,000 people and their families in their return to Spain, providing personalised advice, as well as collaborating with public administrations at local, regional, national and European levels and with companies from various sectors.
