Unicaja plans to sign collaboration agreements with more than 160 agricultural and livestock organisations, representing more than 55,000 professionals throughout Spain, as part of the current Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) campaign, thus consolidating the scope of the initiative and its impact on the primary sector.
The aim of these agreements, signed with the main organisations in the sector in Andalusia, Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura, is to offer farmers and livestock breeders the possibility of receiving CAP aid in advance on favourable terms, through a streamlined process and specialised advice.
Professionals who register the direct payment of the aid with the bank will be able to quickly access the liquidity needed to meet the usual expenses of their farms, supported by Unicaja's extensive network of branches and teams with experience in processing these subsidies.
The deadline for submitting the single CAP application will remain open until 30 April, while the advance payment can be taken out until 31 October.
With the signing of these more than 160 agreements, the bank consolidates its historic commitment to the agricultural sector, considered strategic for the economy and sustainable development of rural areas. This support translates into a comprehensive offering that combines financing, advice and solutions tailored to the specific needs of farmers and livestock breeders.
Factors such as Unicaja's extensive territorial presence and its specialisation in the agricultural and agri-food sectors enable the bank to continue playing an active role as a financial ally to farmers and livestock breeders, whom it places at the centre of its strategy. To this end, it works closely with professional organisations, thereby contributing to the stability and competitiveness of the sector.
As part of this support, the bank has recently made 1,000 million euros in pre-approved financing available to these professionals for this financial year (earmarked for the CAP campaign and intensive crops). With this initiative, it provides farmers with the necessary liquidity in a flexible manner to meet regular expenses and ensure the daily operation of thousands of farms.
