The participants of the 'Emprendeporte' and 'Emprendeporte Plus' program, developed by the Real Madrid Foundation in collaboration with Unicaja, were visited this Tuesday by Felipe Reyes, ambassador of the Foundation, at the Pradillo Municipal Sports Center in Madrid. Reyes was accompanied by Gemma Sotorres, Unicaja's Head of Image and Sponsorship, as well as representatives of both institutions. Also, on behalf of the Madrid Town Hall, Yolanda Estrada, Councillor President of the Chamartín District, attended the visit. During the day, the participants were able to share a very special training session with them.

Felipe Reyes explained that "the discipline learnt in sports is the same discipline that helps to overcome the challenges of everyday life. With this program we promote the creation of new opportunities through effort and values".

'Emprendeporte' and 'Emprendeporte Plus' make up a program aimed at unemployed people and retired people and whose purpose is to promote sports practice as a tool to improve physical and emotional health, especially in key moments of life.

Participants take part in two weekly physical activity sessions and a monthly Sports Psychology and Coaching session. The activities are led by professionals specialized in the methodology 'For a Real Education: Values and Sport', developed by the Real Madrid Foundation.

Among the objectives of this program, with which Unicaja collaborates, are the improvement of general physical condition, the reinforcement of self-esteem, the development of social skills and the enhancement of sport as an alternative occupation of free time, as well as a pillar for the prevention of cardiovascular and mental illnesses.

These programs, which have a total of ninety places, are developed in the municipal sports centers of Pradillo, in Madrid, and Félix Rubio, in Villaverde.

Renewal of the agreement between Unicaja and the Real Madrid Foundation

Unicaja has recently renewed its collaboration agreement with the Real Madrid Foundation to support several programs aimed at promoting social inclusion through sports. In addition to this project, Unicaja collaborates with the Oviedo social sports football school, which is supported by the Town Hall and provides training in values and football to fifty athletes between the ages of 5 and 17. This school has places reserved for students at risk of exclusion or social disadvantage, assisted by the Red Cross and Caritas.

This is thirteen years of collaboration, working hand in hand, to promote education in values and the integration of socially disadvantaged groups through sports, in line with Unicaja's commitment to contribute to the development of society and the promotion of equal opportunities.
