Unicaja has signed an agreement with the Town Hall of Ciudad Rodrigo to collaborate in activities to improve the employability of young people in the region, and thus contribute to fix population in rural areas. These initiatives will be implemented in the new Social Innovation Center to be created in the city, a space that will focus on entrepreneurship and job creation as the cornerstones of progress.

The agreement was signed by the mayor of Ciudad Rodrigo, Marcos Iglesias, and Unicaja’s regional manager in Castilla y León, Manuel Rubio.

The Social Innovation Center is conceived as a space for open collaboration, which will provide citizens with resources and tools for the development of social, educational, cultural and entrepreneurial projects, with a positive impact on the entire region.

The mayor emphasized that this project “will have a strong focus on job creation, and will also become a meeting point between the public administration, the private sector and social organizations”.

For his part, Manuel Rubio highlighted “Unicaja's commitment to collaborate in the economic, social and cultural development in the areas where it operates, especially in those places where it is most active, such as Salamanca and the area of Ciudad Rodrigo”.

This initiative is part of a project promoted by the Junta de Castilla y León and the Provincial Council of Salamanca, with the aim of serving as a catalyst for regional transformation, integrating education, culture, and social impact, and opening new opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

Unicaja's support for this project responds to its sustainability strategy and its commitment to social inclusion and the reinforcement of opportunities for young people, with a commitment to education and innovation.
