Unicaja makes Bizum digital identification available to its customers, a feature that allows them to register and access different e-commerce platforms securely and easily, in addition to knowing and managing, at all times, their consent to the processing of their data.

It is only necessary to enter the mobile number associated to Bizum in the electronic platform, as well as confirm the registration or access through Unicaja's mobile app. In this way, the registration process is facilitated, avoiding the user to design and memorize passwords and guaranteeing the transfer, previously authorized, of the data that are strictly necessary for the use of the service.

Customers are the owner of their data

Unicaja, through its mobile app, allows its customers to know at all times about the merchants with whom they have shared their data, what type of information they have communicated and the accesses they have made with Bizum. With this new digital identification service, only the strictly necessary data is provided, avoiding sharing information with third parties, which provides greater privacy.

Also from the app, it will be possible to revoke data access permissions to those platforms where customers have given their consent, thus guaranteeing this fundamental right under the data protection regulation.

Increased security, reduced risk of fraud and impersonation

Bizum's new functionality is also very convenient for merchants, as it reduces the chances of fraud and identity theft.

The data is validated by Unicaja in the customer registration process. Likewise, the merchant gains in user experience and reduces verification costs of the information provided by the users.

Unicaja supports new digital identity standards

This initiative is part of the bank's innovation strategy, in which it actively participates and promotes cutting-edge digital identification solutions, aligned with the new European digital identity and signature regulations, which not only facilitate access and registration, but also allow customers to have control of both their identity and their data.

Another example is Unicaja's participation in the Bank of Spain financial sandbox with Dalion, a self-managed digital identity project using blockchain.
