Edufinet, the financial education project promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja, launches new website for Edufiemp, its portal for business owners and entrepreneurs, with the goal of offering a more accessible and intuitive site.

The launch of this new website coincides with the tenth anniversary of Edufiemp. The new design features a renewed image and includes a wide range of contents, such as information on the legal form of companies, financial system, phases of business activity, viability of a business project, financial products, taxes, business-bank relations, economic indicators and financial calculations, as well as a section on the specific topics related to the agricultural sector.

Edufiemp was launched on June 2011 by Unicaja, together with the Malaga Confederation of Business Owners (Confederación de Empresarios de Málaga, CEM), as a pioneering portal in Spain to offer financial education for business owners and entrepreneurs.

More specifically, Edufiemp wants to provide business owners and entrepreneurs with an overall perspective on the key topics of the Spanish financial system and of the main products and services they can have access to, thus helping them to make the financial decisions that are most appropriate for the daily running of their companies.

The financial education portal for businesses is hosted in that of the Edufinet Project (www.edufinet.com/), with access from the link available there. Additionally, there is a direct access to Edufiemp: https://edufiemp.edufinet.com/.

Topics covered at Edufiemp

Some of the topics covered at Edufiemp deal with the importance of financial education and basic economic and financial concepts and indicators; legal form of companies; key features of the Spanish financial system; phases and stages of business activity, with special focus on financial needs and the instruments to face them, or the offering of financial products available to business owners.

The portal also includes information about other topics such as the legal framework of financial products and their taxation; bank-company relations, as well some notions on basic financial calculations and some practical application for users of the portal to test what they have learn.

Edufiemp includes the section Edufiagro, a webspace on the agricultural sector and focused on its economic and environmental structure and importance, the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) framework, agricultural companies or insurances, among other topics.

Business owners and entrepreneurs can also visit the general contents of the Edufinet portal (www.edufinet.com) and of the apps that it has, such as a glossary, economic indicators and a channel for queries.

In addition to Edufiemp, Edufinet has another specific portal, Edufinext, for young people, a YouTube channel and profiles in Facebook and Twitter. The website also includes sections such as Edufiblog and EdufiAcademics and a videogame.

The Edufinet Project has more than 15 years of trajectory. Although it was launched at the end of 2007, its development began in 2005 within Unicaja, with the collaboration of the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNIA) and of the University of Malaga (UMA).

It currently has the support of 16 universities and more than ten business institutions and organizations. Since it was launched, more than 152,000 have taken part in the different seminars, workshops, courses and lectures organized. Its website has registered so far more than nine million visits, with access from nearly 180 countries.
