The National Lottery is dedicating the ticket for the draw on Thursday 24 September to the 50th anniversary of the Seville Metal Industry Federation (FEDEME, Federación de Empresarios del Metal de Sevilla), with Unicaja serving as the official sponsor for this milestone. With this initiative, Loterías y Apuestas del Estado is highlighting the achievements of a business organisation closely linked to the economic and industrial development of the province of Seville over the last five decades.
Based in Seville, FEDEME is regarded as the oldest business organisation in Spain. Since its creation in 1976, it has supported the evolution of companies in the metal sector during a period marked by profound economic, technological and social transformations, contributing to the strengthening and competitiveness of the province’s industrial base.
Unicaja’s support for FEDEME’s 50th anniversary is part of its commitment to the business and productive fabric of the regions in which it operates and to initiatives that contribute to economic and social development. In this instance, it is joining in a celebration that highlights the history of an organisation representing thousands of companies and professionals in Seville’s industrial sector.
Specifically, FEDEME comprises 22 sectoral associations and represents the interests of more than 9,000 companies and 88,000 workers across the various branches of the metal industry in the province of Seville. It also plays an active role in the collective bargaining of the four metal industry collective agreements currently in force in the province.
A lottery ticket reflecting the industry’s evolution
The image chosen to illustrate the commemorative ticket draws a parallel between the industry’s past and present. On the one hand, it shows a traditional factory from the 1970s linked to the aeronautical industry and, on the other, a modern industrial plant characterised by robotisation and process automation.
Both images share the common theme of the central role played by a specialised and skilled workforce, and symbolise the capacity for adaptation, innovation and progress of an industry closely linked to the economic and social development of Seville.
The president of FEDEME, Francisco Javier Moreno Muruve, emphasised that the issue of this commemorative lottery ticket represents institutional recognition of the federation’s history and of the contribution made over these five decades by companies, professionals and workers in the metal sector to Seville’s development. He also conveyed the organisation’s gratitude to Loterías y Apuestas del Estado for this tribute.
Support for businesses
For his part, the regional manager for Western Andalusia, Javier Aguilera, highlighted “the importance of supporting organisations such as FEDEME, which for five decades have contributed to the growth and transformation of Seville’s business and industrial landscape”. In this regard, he noted that, “for Unicaja, it is a pleasure to be part of this celebration and to continue supporting initiatives that recognise the efforts of the businesses, professionals and workers who contribute every day to the economic development of our region”.
For the draw on 24 September, Loterías will put a total of six million tickets on sale, which will help raise awareness across Spain of FEDEME’s 50th anniversary. The draw will distribute 12.6 million euros in prizes, including a first prize of 300,000 euros per series and a second prize of 60,000 euros per series.
