Unicaja and the Málaga Confederation of Business Owners (CEM, Confederación de Empresarios de Málaga) have renewed the collaboration agreement they have maintained for several years with the aim of continuing to drive the development of the province’s business sector. Under this agreement, the bank is once again making a financing facility available to businesses in Málaga to facilitate their operations, meet their liquidity needs and support their investment and growth projects.

As a result, the more than 40,000 businesses and self-employed individuals, along with the hundred or so associations that are part of CEM, will have access to a specific range of products and services on preferential terms, designed to support them both in the day-to-day running of their businesses and in their growth and modernisation initiatives.

The renewal of the agreement was signed by Unicaja’s CEO, Isidro Rubiales, and the president of CEM, Javier González de Lara, and falls within the bank’s strategy to strengthen its support for businesses, SMEs and self-employed professionals – a priority group within its 2025–2027 Strategic Plan – who play a decisive role in the economic activity of Málaga and Andalusia.

In an environment where access to finance and the capacity to invest remain key factors for business competitiveness, the agreement aims to provide businesses and the self-employed with solutions tailored to their various financial and management needs.

Unicaja’s CEO, Isidro Rubiales, stated that “businesses need a financial partner who understands the economic reality of each region and is able to offer solutions tailored to their needs”. He therefore noted that, “with this renewal, we continue to support Málaga’s business community in its investment, growth and value-creation projects”.

Rubiales also emphasised that “Málaga’s economic and business dynamism highlights the importance of continuing to provide tools that help strengthen the competitive capacity of businesses and the self-employed”.

For his part, the president of the Málaga Confederation of Business Owners, Javier González de Lara, noted that “SMEs and the self-employed need financial solutions tailored to their circumstances, enabling them to carry out their activities with greater security, undertake new investments and make progress with their growth projects”.

He also highlighted that “the renewal of this agreement reinforces a solid and ongoing collaboration with Unicaja, an organisation with deep roots in Málaga and a thorough understanding of the needs of its business community, and enables us to continue bringing tools and services to our businesses that promote their growth, modernisation and job creation”.

Business solutions

The specific range of services that Unicaja makes available to businesses and the self-employed who are members of CEM includes financial products and services designed to facilitate their day-to-day operations and meet the various needs that arise at each stage of their development.

These include, in particular, solutions aimed at meeting liquidity needs, financing investments and supporting new business projects. In addition, there is a wide range of value-added services developed in collaboration with specialist firms.

Unicaja brings together these non-financial solutions in the ‘solucionaT’ section, available on its business website, where businesses and the self-employed can access tools and services that help improve their competitiveness. This offering is complemented by Unicaja’s digital banking solutions, designed to streamline the day-to-day operations of shops, businesses and companies.
