Unicaja will take part in the 37th edition of Salamaq, to be held from 3 to 7 September at the Salamanca Provincial Council exhibition centre, with its own stand where it will offer specialist advice to farmers, livestock breeders and agri-food businesses.

During the fair, the bank’s professionals will address enquiries relating to the financing of crop seasons and investments, the management and advance payment of agricultural subsidies, and the protection of farms against the risks associated with their activities.

Unicaja’s presence at this event – one of the leading gatherings for the primary sector at a national level – will enable the bank to strengthen direct contact with these professionals, gain first-hand insight into their projects and analyse the needs linked to the modernisation of farms, the incorporation of technology, the efficient use of resources and generational succession.

“A farm’s investment decisions are shaped by its cycles of activity, its costs and the risks inherent in farming. Our aim is for farmers, livestock breeders and agri-food businesses to find specialised advice and tailored solutions for each project at Unicaja,” said Manuel Rubio, Unicaja’s North-West regional manager.

He also stated that “Salamaq enables us to hear directly from professionals and find out what they need to modernise their farms, safeguard their livelihoods or facilitate the entry of a new generation into the sector”.

Two sessions on financing and protection

As part of its presence at Salamaq, Unicaja has organised two sessions at its 60-square-metre stand featuring leading experts to address issues of interest to professionals in the sector.

The first will take place this Thursday, 3 September, at 1.00 pm, and will be led by Emiliano Jañez Rodríguez, from the State Agricultural Guarantee Corporation (SAECA), under the title ‘SAECA: Always supporting the rural community’. The session will provide a better understanding of the role this organisation plays in supporting the rural community and in providing access to finance.

On Friday, 4 September, at 1.00 pm, Sheila Diéguez Vallejo, from Caser Seguros, will take the floor to deliver the presentation ‘Comprehensive protection for agricultural and livestock entrepreneurs’, focusing on the importance of having adequate cover against the risks associated with the sector.

With this programme, Unicaja aims to provide useful information to aid decision-making and to foster direct exchange between specialists and professionals in the field.

Solutions tailored to a sector undergoing transformation

The agricultural sector plays a key role in the economic and social life of Castilla y León, contributing to the creation of jobs, wealth and economic activity in rural areas. Against this backdrop, Unicaja tailors its offering to the specific needs of farmers, livestock breeders and agro-industrial companies, providing specialised financial products and services, as well as advice to support professionals at every stage of their business.

The bank has experience in managing and processing applications under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and offers financing solutions linked to these grants, as well as alternatives tailored to investments and the specific needs of farms. Its range of services is complemented by agricultural insurance solutions designed to enhance protection for the sector.

Unicaja also facilitates access to the ICO-MAPA-SAECA scheme, aimed at professionals and businesses in the agricultural, fisheries, aquaculture and agri-food sectors affected by the current international economic climate, which provides a subsidy of up to 15,000 euros, and, furthermore,

collaborates with the Regional Ministry of Agriculture of the Regional Government of Castilla y León on the Centralised Management Financial Instrument (IFGC), designed to facilitate access to credit for farmers and livestock breeders in the region.

The bank also pays particular attention to the new generations entering the sector, supporting young farmers and livestock breeders through financing solutions that help to drive their projects forward and promote generational renewal.

In addition to this, the bank supports initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of farms, in line with the evolution of a sector that seeks to optimise the use of resources, make progress in energy and water efficiency, and incorporate new technologies.

Unicaja’s presence at Salamaq is part of its relationship with the agricultural and livestock sector and with the rural areas in which it operates.

Salamaq, which encompasses the Agricultural and Livestock Sector Fair and the 37th International Purebred Livestock Exhibition, will occupy more than 20,000 square metres. The organisers expect to exceed 400 exhibitors, including participants from both the trade fair and the livestock show, against a backdrop characterised by modernisation, innovation and animal health.
