Unicaja and Círculo Empresarial Moralo have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of promoting the development and competitiveness of businesses through various initiatives that will benefit 240 companies and entrepreneurs in Campo Arañuelo, La Vera and Los Ibores.

The agreement was signed in Navalmoral de la Mata (Cáceres) by Unicaja’s regional manager for Extremadura, Marga Serna, and the president of the Círculo Empresarial Moralo, Ramón Barbado.

In the words of Marga Serna, “Unicaja stands alongside the business owners and entrepreneurs of this region – a bond we are strengthening through this agreement with the Moralo Business Circle – by supporting initiatives that help drive growth, innovation and opportunities in the region, whilst also promoting social cohesion and helping to retain the local population”.

She also emphasised that “it is essential for our organisation to support businesses in our municipalities, both in their day-to-day operations and in the projects and decisions that will shape their future”. In this regard, she highlighted “the talent, innovative capacity and transformative spirit that characterise Extremadura’s business community”.

For his part, the president of Círculo Empresarial Moralo, Ramón Barbado, thanked Unicaja’s commitment to the region’s business community and highlighted the importance of continuing to forge alliances between businesses and institutions to create opportunities. “This agreement will enable us to continue promoting initiatives that foster economic growth, entrepreneurship and job creation in Campo Arañuelo, La Vera and Los Ibores, whilst also helping to retain the local population and build a future with more opportunities for our villages,” he said.

Boosting the productive sector and the economy

Throughout the year, the Moralo Business Circle organises activities and projects to revitalise the productive sector and, ultimately, the economic development of the villages in this region of the province of Cáceres. One such example is the Talayuela 2026 Multisectoral Fair, which took place last March, attended by more than 60 companies and entrepreneurs, and supported by Unicaja.

In addition, the business organisation will be running various activities throughout the year, the next of which is a talk by Eduardo Strauch, a survivor of the Andes tragedy, on 24 September, which will be organised in collaboration with the bank.

Unicaja remains firmly committed to boosting economic activity, with support for the self-employed, SMEs and businesses forming a key pillar of its strategy. Extremadura is an area of particular importance to the bank, which continues to strengthen its collaboration with institutions and economic and social stakeholders in the region with the aim of promoting sustainable development and bolstering the growth potential of its productive sector.
