Unicaja has launched a special 0% interest financing scheme aimed at customers affected by the wildfire in Los Gallardos (Almería), which has had a significant impact on the local environment, homes and the local economy. The bank is thus coordinating a response designed to provide immediate liquidity and facilitate recovery.

The initiative is aimed at families, the self-employed, SMEs, farmers and livestock breeders in the area, and comprises two complementary products:

  •  On the one hand, a loan for the restoration and replacement of assets, intended to repair or replace personal and productive property (homes, farms, vehicles, amongst others), with funding of up to 80 per cent of the project cost and repayment terms of up to five years.
  •  Secondly, a loan to advance compensation, which allows compensation from the Insurance Compensation Consortium or insurers to be brought forward, covering up to 90 per cent of the value of the claim and with a term of up to 12 months, extendable if payment has not yet been made.

The aim is to provide immediate liquidity to facilitate the restoration of homes, farms and business operations, as well as to bring forward the receipt of compensation payments.

Both lines of credit are offered with no interest or fees (application, set-up, cancellation and instalment payments) and with flexible terms and repayment schedules. Customers in the affected area can submit their application at any Unicaja branch, where a specialist advisor will assess each case individually.

This initiative is part of Unicaja’s emergency response protocols, with a focus on accelerating recovery and contributing to the continuity of the local economy. Unicaja has already implemented similar schemes following the DANA of 2024 and the fires of 2025.
