Unicaja has been recognised in the 25th edition of the 2026 AECA Business Transparency Awards with a special mention in the “IBEX 35 – Most Significant Improvement Compared with the Previous Edition” category. The award, granted by the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration (AECA), acknowledges the bank’s progress in the quality of its corporate reporting and governance practices.

The distinction was received by Unicaja’s Head of Accounting and Corporate Reporting, Julián Muñoz, during the annual awards ceremony.

For the bank, this recognition reflects its ongoing commitment to enhancing the clarity, consistency and accessibility of the information it provides to shareholders, investors, customers, regulators and society as a whole.

The AECA Business Transparency Awards are among Spain’s leading recognitions in this field. They assess areas including the quality of financial reporting, corporate governance, the integration of sustainability criteria and corporate communication through a company’s various reporting and communication channels.

Responsible and sustainable management

Therefore, this distinction recognises the work carried out by the bank to uphold the highest standards of corporate reporting and governance, reaffirming its commitment to transparent, responsible and value-driven management focused on long-term value creation.

Indeed, Unicaja continues to advance its sustainability and corporate excellence strategy by promoting initiatives aimed at strengthening communication with its stakeholders, ensuring the responsible management of risks, and complying with the highest standards of corporate governance.
