More than 300 professionals, institutional representatives and legal experts took part in the 9th Free Legal Aid Conference, held in Salamanca on 18 and 19 June with the collaboration of Unicaja.
Held under the theme “Duty Solicitors: No Defence, No Justice”, the conference aimed to examine the current situation and challenges facing the duty solicitor system, while also providing a forum for reflection and dialogue on its present and future.
Throughout the event, participants addressed a range of issues relating to the evolution of the duty solicitor system, its regulatory framework and its adaptation to social and legislative changes, as well as the operational and organisational challenges associated with the provision of free legal aid services.
The programme included analytical sessions, panel discussions and the exchange of professional experiences, with the aim of sharing knowledge and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the free legal aid system.
Unicaja’s support for the conference reflects the bank’s commitment to promoting initiatives that contribute to the economic and social development of the regions in which it operates, including Salamanca and its province, with which it maintains close ties.
