Around 200 professionals, students and companies from the veterinary sector gathered on 5 and 6 June for the fourth edition of the Castilla y León Small Animal Congress, held at the Arzobispo Fonseca Hall of Residence at the University of Salamanca. This congress, organised by the Salamanca Association of Veterinarians and the Council of Veterinary Professional Associations of Castilla y León, has once again benefited from the collaboration of Unicaja.
These conferences, aimed primarily at small animal clinicians, veterinary technical assistants (VTAs) and university students, provide a unique opportunity to promote the continuing professional development of these professionals, as well as an ideal setting for establishing direct contact and networking with companies in the sector.
The theme of this year’s event focused on the main digestive disorders in small animals, which were addressed from a multidisciplinary perspective, integrating insights from various specialities such as internal medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging, intensive care and veterinary nursing, with a clear practical focus for immediate application in daily clinical practice.
Thus, for another year, the event has delivered a comprehensive programme combining scientific training with a clinical focus through a range of presentations delivered by leading experts, whilst offering a carefully curated conference experience that has fostered camaraderie, interaction and the exchange of knowledge amongst attendees. It also served as a showcase for the various partner companies to present and publicise the latest developments in products, equipment and services within the sector.
Unicaja’s support for this initiative is part of its sustainability policy and its commitment to promoting education, by fostering activities that contribute to training and the development of talent. Representing the bank at the conference was Nemesio Vaquero, manager of the Salamanca branch.
