Unicaja and the Bishopric of Almería have signed a financial cooperation agreement aimed at facilitating access to banking products and services on specific terms for the diocese, its parishes and the various organisations linked to its activities.
The agreement, which was signed by Unicaja’s regional manager for Eastern Andalusia, Juan Cayuela Pérez, and the Bishop of Almería, Antonio Gómez Cantero, will make financial services tailored to the management and operational needs of the Diocese and its affiliated institutions available to them. Specifically, more than 250 organisations within the diocese will be eligible to benefit from this agreement.
During the signing of the agreement, Juan Cayuela emphasised that “this agreement reflects Unicaja’s commitment to Almería and to the institutions that play a vital role in social cohesion and people’s well-being”. “The Bishopric and the organisations linked to the diocese carry out very important work in numerous areas of social life in Almería, and at Unicaja we want to support them in this work with financial solutions tailored to their needs,” he stated.
In fact, he stressed that “our mission is to continue being an accessible organisation, capable of offering solutions tailored to the needs of each community and contributing to the development of our home regions”, emphasising, in particular, that Almería is “one of the regions with which Unicaja has a historic connection and a particularly close relationship”.
Close ties with Almería and its institutions
The signing of this agreement is part of Unicaja’s commitment to being a community-focused bank and to the regions in which it operates, maintaining close ties with institutions and organisations that play a significant role in society.
In the case of the province of Almería, the financial institution has a strong presence and close ties, carrying out extensive financial activities aimed at families, businesses, the self-employed, public administrations and institutions.
Through agreements such as the one signed with the Bishopric of Almería, Unicaja reaffirms its commitment to supporting organisations that contribute to the social welfare and economic development of the region. To this end, it provides them with solutions tailored to their needs and helps to strengthen their activities.
Specialised support
The collaboration with the Bishopric of Almería is also in line with Unicaja’s strategy to continue strengthening its value proposition through personalised, specialised service tailored to the needs of each group.
In this regard, the bank is working to continuously improve the customer experience, one of the key pillars set out in its 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, which aims to strengthen ties with various groups and institutions, promote an increasingly personalised offering and develop solutions that provide added value.
With this agreement, Unicaja is expanding its collaboration with Almería’s institutional network and reinforcing its commitment to a province that is one of its main areas of operation, contributing to the development of initiatives that generate social and economic impact in the region.
