Unicaja has strengthened its partnership with the Carreñoenred Local Trade Association, an organisation representing the business community of the Carreño district in Asturias, with the aim of boosting the development of local business activity through a wide range of financial products and services on preferential terms.

Thanks to this agreement, the shops, self-employed individuals and businesses that are members of the association will have access to a comprehensive range of financial solutions designed to meet the needs of their day-to-day operations, support their growth and help improve their competitiveness.

The products offered includes financing products for investment and working capital, credit facilities, business loans, guarantees, leasing and renting solutions, as well as tools aimed at facilitating business management and development. In addition, the agreement includes collection and payment services, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, e-commerce solutions, payments via Bizum, instalment payment options for purchases, and insurance products tailored to businesses and the self-employed.

The agreement also includes benefits for employees of partner businesses, who will have access to a specific range of banking products and services, as well as savings, financing and digital banking solutions on favourable terms.

Ana María Lorenzana, Unicaja’s manager for Western and Southern Asturias, noted that, for the bank, “it is a priority to support the shops, self-employed individuals and small businesses that generate economic activity and employment in our regions”. “With agreements such as this, we reinforce our commitment to those who contribute daily to the economic vitality of Asturias and provide financial solutions tailored to their real needs,” she stated.

For her part, Sonia Pérez, chair of Carreñoenred, emphasised that, as an organisation, “we always work with the aim of supporting our members and safeguarding the interests of local businesses. This agreement provides a new tool enabling shops, the self-employed and businesses in the municipality to access financial solutions tailored to their needs, with terms that facilitate their day-to-day operations, growth and competitiveness”.

Commitment to Asturias and its business community

This collaboration is part of Unicaja’s strategy to support the productive sector, with a particular focus on the self-employed, SMEs and businesses – key groups for economic development and job creation.

The bank remains firmly committed to community banking, based on a thorough understanding of the local area and on supporting families, professionals and businesses. In this context, Asturias is a region of particular importance to Unicaja, which continues to strengthen its collaboration with the region’s economic and social stakeholders to contribute to the sustainable growth of its economy and the strengthening of its business community.

Furthermore, this initiative is aligned with the priorities set out in Unicaja’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, which aims to boost business activity and strengthen relationships with the self-employed and SMEs, providing these groups with specialised financial solutions and a customer service model that is accessible, personalised and tailored to the needs of each region.

The Carreño en Red Trade Association works to promote and defend the interests of local businesses in the district of Carreño, driving initiatives to boost the local economy, foster business collaboration and strengthen the area’s commercial fabric.
