Unicaja and Asaja Jaén have signed a financial agreement aimed at improving access to specialised products and services for farmers, livestock breeders, cooperatives and agri-food businesses in the province, with specific solutions for investment, working capital and sustainability.

The agreement, which complements other specific collaboration agreements with Asaja Jaén, provides a wide range of solutions tailored to the specific needs of the agricultural sector, with measures aimed at both the day-to-day management of farms and the financing of new investments, modernisation and improved competitiveness.

Key features include advances on CAP subsidies, financing for agricultural campaigns, loans for machinery purchases, improvements to rural properties, installation of efficient irrigation systems, working capital operations and specific products linked to agro-industrial development.

Furthermore, the agreement incorporates support tools for projects related to sustainability, digitalisation and access to Next Generation EU funds, thereby enabling farmers and businesses to tackle new processes of transformation and technological adaptation.

Unicaja’s regional manager for Eastern Andalusia, Juan Cayuela, noted that “the agri-food sector remains strategic for our economy and for the development of rural areas, which is why the bank remains committed to supporting farmers, livestock breeders and businesses with specialised products and personalised service”.

He added that “this agreement strengthens a long-standing relationship with the agricultural sector in Jaén and allows us to continue offering financial tools that help improve competitiveness, boost investment and promote the sustainability of farms”.

For his part, the president of Asaja Jaén, Nicolás Vico, highlighted the importance of this new collaboration with Unicaja, which “will result in favourable terms and make day-to-day life easier for our farmers and livestock breeders, who are the ones who really drive us forward”.

The partnership between the two organisations also offers advantages in financial and digital services, including digital banking, POS terminals, agricultural insurance, payment methods and specific solutions for the self-employed and businesses in the agricultural and livestock sector.

Support for a key sector

With this initiative, Unicaja and Asaja Jaén are consolidating a partnership aimed at strengthening the rural economic fabric and supporting the growth of one of the most important sectors for the province of Jaén and for Andalusia as a whole.

Unicaja offers a specific support programme for these professionals, through financial products tailored to the particularities of each season and the real needs of rural areas. In addition to providing financing, it promotes initiatives linked to modernisation, sustainability, digitalisation and generational renewal, thereby reinforcing its commitment to the competitiveness and economic and social development of the Andalusian countryside.

Asaja Jaén, with over three decades of history, is the largest professional agricultural organisation in Jaén and one of the largest and most robust on the national scene. It has a network of over 60 professionals in the province and around 40 offices or service points.
