A new edition of the Fedeto Business Awards was held this Friday at the Finca los Lavaderos in Rojas, Toledo. These awards have been recognising the talent and effort of companies in the province for thirty years and have been supported by Unicaja.

In total, sixteen awards were presented during a business gala to highlight the work and contribution of SMEs and the self-employed in generating wealth and employment in the municipalities of the province of Toledo.

In this edition, Unicaja sponsored the 2026 Innovation Award, which was presented to Industrias Duero, a family-run business in Toledo founded in 1952. The bank’s regional manager for Castilla-La Mancha, Almudena Noheda Díaz, presented the award to the company’s chairman, Carlos García de Lucas.

With over seven decades of experience, Industrias Duero is a well-established leader in steel processing and the development of innovative road safety solutions. Throughout its history, the company has made a sustained commitment to technological innovation, developing more than 70 road safety systems, and to internationalisation, establishing a strong presence in both the domestic and global markets, having exported to almost 100 countries. The facilities in Toledo are a unique model of innovation, featuring automated profiling lines, robotic welding, bending, laser cutting and warehouses that provide unrivalled logistics capacity within the sector.

Hundreds of people attended the gala, which featured a keynote speech by the president of the Toledo Business Federation (Fedeto), Javier de Antonio Arribas. For several years now, the event has had a charitable focus, with the proceeds from this year’s event going to the Association of People with Autism in the province of Toledo (APAT).
