The seventh edition of the Premios Empresariales del Sur de España (PEC Awards), organised by the Círculo de Empresarios del Sur de España (CESUR), brought together in Madrid the chairmen and CEOs of 300 companies, mainly from Spain, Andalusia and Extremadura, to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of the south.

Sponsored by Unicaja as an institutional partner, the gala, hosted by journalist Sandra Golpe, recognised the good work, innovation and social commitment of business leaders from Andalusia, Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla.

Thus, awards were presented to the Andalusian company MIGASA as Best Ambassador Company of Southern Spain, an award received by its chairman Antonio Gallego; to the businessman Antonio Gómez-Guillamón, CEO of AERTEC, as Best Executive Ambassador of Southern Spain; to Airbus as the Company Most Committed to Southern Spain, an award received by its chairman Francisco Javier Sánchez Segura; the Extremadura company “La casa de las carcasas” as Best Entrepreneurial Initiative in Southern Spain, an award accepted by its founder and CEO, Ismael Villalobos; and the Huelva-born sportswoman Carolina Marín as Best Universal Ambassador for Southern Spain.

The jury for the PEC Awards was composed of prominent figures from the economic and social spheres, including members of the CESUR board of directors, the awards’ institutional partners (the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Regional Government of Extremadura, IESE, Alfonso X el Sabio University and Unicaja) and the chairmen and CEOs of the leading media groups: Atresmedia, Grupo Prisa, Grupo Joly, Europa Press, Grupo Vocento, RTVA, Prisa, El Confidencial, El Español and COPE.

The awards have as institutional partners IESE, the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Regional Government of Extremadura, Unicaja and Alfonso X El Sabio University (UAX). They are also sponsored by Grupo Azvi, Fundación Cajasol, Crescenta, iryo, Mutuactivos and Recoletas Salud, and supported by Ayesa Digital, Edison Next, Grupo MAS and Montosa.

The winners thus join the list of leading companies and individuals recognised with these awards in previous editions.

Unicaja’s support for this initiative is part of its commitment to the business and industrial sector, as well as its focus on companies, SMEs and the self-employed as key groups for economic and social revitalisation.
