Unicaja and the Royal Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG) have signed an agreement under which the bank joins the federation’s Sponsors’ Club as the sole financial institution sponsor of the organization.

The agreement, with an initial term of five years, was signed by Unicaja’s CEO, Isidro Rubiales, and the RFEG’s president, Juan Guerrero-Burgos, and will enable the federation and golfers to access the bank’s range of financial products and services.

In the sporting sphere, the agreement provides for Unicaja’s presence across the RFEG’s main platforms and events, with particular visibility at professional competitions such as the Challenge Tour, as well as at the Sponsors’ Club tournaments held across the country.

Furthermore, as part of this partnership, Unicaja plans to launch a GOLF Unicaja-RFEG card, personalised with the federation’s branding, aimed specifically at federation members and golf enthusiasts.

Unicaja’s CEO, Isidro Rubiales, noted that this agreement “reinforces our commitment to sport and allows us to bring our financial offering closer to the golfing community with solutions tailored to their needs”.

For his part, Juan Guerrero-Burgos, president of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, remarked that “Unicaja’s entry into the world of golf fills us with satisfaction, as it offers the chance to provide better services to all clubs and members. Unicaja’s image of financial strength simultaneously bolsters and revitalises the perception of Spanish golf itself, a sport supported by more than 320,000 members and over a million tourists who come to Spain with the primary aim of playing golf”.

Personalised card

The agreement includes the forthcoming launch of the GOLF Unicaja-RFEG card, aimed specifically at federation members and golf enthusiasts. It is a personalised card bearing the federation’s logo, designed as a specific offering for this group.

This new product is part of the bank’s strategy to develop specific offerings for particular groups, with payment solutions tailored to their habits and needs, and with benefits derived from the sponsorships themselves, which constitute a highly distinctive value proposition.

The agreement with the RFEG is part of Unicaja’s commitment to sport as a lever for positioning and engagement with society, through support for projects that promote values such as effort, self-improvement and teamwork.

In line with this, the bank complements its strategy with initiatives such as its ‘emocionaT’ platform, designed to offer its customers experiences and benefits linked to sport, culture and leisure.
