Unicaja is maintaining its strategy focused on the agricultural sector by developing financial instruments tailored to the specific needs of farmers and livestock breeders. Among these tools is the Subsidised Diesel Card*, designed to facilitate the management of fuel supplies for agricultural machinery.

Unicaja’s range of financial products and services addresses the current needs of these professionals, who face challenges related to variable costs and adapting to new regulatory and environmental requirements. The bank aims to facilitate the day-to-day operations of a sector considered essential to the economy.

Aimed at agricultural professionals and available at any Unicaja branch, this card allows for the centralisation of payments for subsidised diesel and improves the monitoring of consumption, in a context marked by volatile energy costs and the need to optimise available resources in agricultural activities.

The Subsidised Diesel Card not only simplifies the day-to-day operations of farmers and livestock breeders, but also helps to improve the efficiency and economic sustainability of farms.

Among its advantages are convenience—as it can be used at all outlets offering subsidised diesel (Euro 6000, ServiRed and H24)— and flexibility, offering different payment options —debit, end-of-month or deferred—, thus adapting to the income cycles typical of agricultural activity. Furthermore, it provides greater control over expenditure thanks to the ability to set limits and receive detailed consumption statements.

This solution forms part of Unicaja’s value proposition for the agricultural sector, which includes aspects such as pre-approved financing of €1,000 million, aimed at both advances on Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) subsidies and intensive crops, as well as other products and services designed to boost the competitiveness of farms.

As pointed out by Unicaja’s head of SMEs and Agriculture, Francisco Vilches, “the agricultural sector has its own specific characteristics, with irregular income cycles and a high dependence on certain production costs, such as fuel. It is therefore necessary to have tools that allow for more precise planning of expenditure”.

“The sector’s evolution requires solutions that provide control over day-to-day management,” said Vilches, adding that “Unicaja’s offering meets this need by enabling detailed monitoring of consumption and its integration into the farm’s financial management.”

Extensive knowledge of the rural environment

With a network of branches close to the local area and a deep understanding of the rural environment, Unicaja reaffirms its commitment to supporting the agricultural sector in its transformation and growth and consolidates its role as a leading institution for farmers and livestock breeders.

In short, its commitment to the countryside, whose professionals the bank places at the heart of its strategy, translates into concrete solutions that address the sector’s current challenges: cost control, access to finance and the development of digital channels that enable the provision of a local and personalised service.
